Soundsets: GE 7FDL (Dash 8, Dash 9, Genesis)

Description
General Electric 7FDL sounds for most applicable locomotives on the Workshop. Many mods already utilize some of these sound files, however this mod aims to standardize soundsets, improve notching, and reduce redundant files for future GE locomotive mods. Includes 12 and 16 cylinder sounds for:
  • Dash 7: B30-7A, C36-7
  • Dash 8: B40-8, B40-8W, C32-8, C39-8, C40-8W
  • Dash 9: C44-9W
  • Genesis: P32AC-DM, P40DC, P42DC

All reskins of the above locomotives should be supported, with somewhat accurate horns specific to each railroad. The vanilla C40-8W is also updated, however repaints of that model are not supported, as well as the legacy P42DC model.

Locomotives will either blast the horn once or twice when departing stations (closeDoors event). The air compressor will turn on occasionally, although when it does is affected by train length (weird game thing).

This mod also patches B40-8 mods that had excessively bright lights, and removes the flashing animation from the C36-7.

Load order doesn't matter.
Please report any issues.

Thank you for this. I got it all working. I have kept the Class 60 horns from the main pack but I am using the AC4400CW sounds and have removed the bell references. This is such an epic pack and thanks for making this and my fictional Class 60 come true.

I would start by copying one of the existing soundsets, renaming it, and opening it up in a text editor like notepad++. There's a field for the horn, where you can change the file path to the wav file of your choice. The filepath in the closeDoors section should also be changed, or delete if you don't want the train to sound the horn when leaving a station.

At the top, you should also delete the filepath for the bell sound, and then delete its corresponding entry in the second half of the text file [after updateFn = function (input)]. It should look something like:

{
gain = soundeffectsutil.sampleCurve({ { 0.0, 0.0 }, { .05, 1.0 }, { 8.9408, 1.0 }, { 8.99, 0.0 } }, input.speed),
pitch = 1.0
},

Nice sound pack there. I want to add these engine sounds to a fictional Class 60 repaint to similar a GE powered Class 60 locomotive. Is there a way to swap the horn to keep the Class 60 horns please? I would appreciate any advice on this, thank you in advance. I want to experiment with the Centro Class 60 with these sounds as a starter for my project repaint that will need this sound pack as a dependency for it to work.

AW! I grew up about 1 1/2 blocks off the Burlington lines west of Chicago as a little girl. This brings back so many memories. Thank you!

Thank you very much

Sure. Started with BNSF & sound mods. All good. Added UP dash 9. No horn on BNSF or UP units. Removed UP. It worked again. Exactly the same result when I tried dash 8-40b

Could you elaborate? What's the other GE mod you're adding, and are the horns on every GE unit not working, even like the Dash 8s or Dash 7s?

When using BNSF dash 9 units and your soundset its amazing. However when I add another GE mod the horn sounds no longer work on any GE unit, Other than that amazing sounds though.
