Description
Major Update: This addon works for all branches and versions of Garry's Mod as of March 2024!!!

Help me reach the Mega Upload Achievement,
Remember to leave a like or thumbs up if you enjoy the addon.

rycch is back with his biggest addon yet, well not in file size, but definitely in scope. Have you ever tried subscribing to a voice replacement/ VO replacement addon for the Combine or Rebels and asked yourself, why can't I have multiple VO/Voiceline replacements active at the same time? Most voice replacer addons replace the base sound files to the game making it so that you could only have one voicepack in use at a time. For this reason, they also had a chance of crashing your game if you deactivated them. To this I say no more!!!

rycch's Combine Voice Replacer [RCVR] Base makes it so that you can have multiple voice replacers in use at any point in time, while also making the development of new voicepacks and voiceline replacers simple for those interested in development. More than the name implies, this addon supports more than just Combine. It also supports Metropolice, Male Rebel, and Female Rebel voiceline/VO replacement.

[RCVR] Base includes the following features:
  • Support for dynamic Combine Soldier, Metropolice, Male Rebel, and Female Rebel voiceline/VO replacement.

  • (2/11/2024) Model/class based Voicepack enforcement for Combine, so now Combine Soldiers, Elites, Shotgunners, and Prison guards can be forced to use unique voicepacks.

  • (2/14/2024) Group characteristic based Voicepack enforcement for Combine, so now Overwatch Combine (soldiers and shotgunners), Prison Guard Combine (soldiers and shotgunners), Shogunners (Overwatch and prison guard), and Soldiers (Overwatch and prison guard) can be forced to use unique voicepacks based which group they are part of.

  • Support for multiple voicepacks working at the same time, increasing npc voiceline variety on the battlefield.

  • The ability to activate and deactivate installed voicepacks at will, so no more crashing from replacing the base files.

  • Self-contained voiceline and sentence handling, so no more downloading and manually installing sentences.txt files

  • The ability to randomize the probability of certain NPC voices based on active voicepacks.

  • Automatic detection for new voicepacks.

  • Support for both basic replacement and fully custom npc voicepacks.

  • The inclusion of 8 example voicepacks to aid developers interested in creating new [RCVR] voicepacks and voice replacers

  • Access to an ever growing library of voicepacks for mixing and matching npc voicelines to your heart's content

Notes:
  • This addon is a base and will not do much on its own, [RCVR] voicepack addons will need to be installed to get full use out of this addon. I highly recommend subcribing to HL2 NPC Voicepack Collection as this will give you all the base HL2 npcs voices as [RCVR] voicepacks.

  • This addon does not work with non-[RVCR] voice replacer addons. If you have a voice replacement addon you really enjoy, then the built in example voicepacks can be used to convert an existing voice replacer into an [RVCR] voicepack.

  • The settings for this addon can be found under Utilities>rycch's Configs>[RCVR] Voice Replacer

Current plans to update this addon:
  • Support for more npc types like zombies, antlions, headcrabs, etc
  • Expanded custom voicepack capabilities
  • Model-based voicepack assignment - (2/11/2024)
  • Addon works for all versions of GMod - (3/14/2024)

This addon is still being actively updated so comments are appreciated. I will also be taking recommendations for new voicepacks. Please don't spam.

Have fun and if you have the chance, please check out my other non RCVR addons:

HL2 Sniper NPC

I wonder if you could look into getting alternate voicelines & flatlines for Fast Zombine from Headcrab Takeover?

I wonder if you could create a branch for Zombies?

I'd like a special option for the Metrocop Zombies specifically from that addon to play special voicelines and emit Bio-Signal Flatlines on death."

I wonder if you saw this? I still feel that Sabreans could use a branch of this for Metro-Zombies and also Poison Zombine.

@UNIT1 Perhaps. Have you looked into the documentation included in the RCVR Base files?
