Omschrijving
Okay, fine you're right. I'll abandon my cannibal-pirate-sadist beliefs, but just because I believe in the power of friendship now it doesn't in any way mean I'm going to join your colony. I'm still a pirate raider, I just don't eat people anymore. And I hate raiders. In fact I'm really unhappy now because my pirate-raider leaders ideologically stand against everything I believe in.

...I think I'm going to vent my frustrations by assaulting your other prisoner "Terrorbot9000 the Megaton Deathpuncher".

Certainty
This mod makes prisoners lose certainty instead of gaining it if their mood is high in your prisons (above 35% mood). The speed is the same as what they would normally gain.

(Note: Due to the the certanity change is coded it will sometimes appear to be going in the wrong direction and then drop down to the proper value. This is not a bug. It is just a minor side-effect of my overzealous performance optmizations :) )

Recruiment and Enslavement
Converting a prisoner will dramatically reduce their resistance and somewhat reduce their will.

More specifically, converting a prisoner reduces their resistance by 75% or 15, whichever is higher. This means many foes can be immediately recruited after conversion.

Will is also reduced by 50% or 5, whichever is higher.

@Eng-Chasers
If you're trying to force-convert them into some violent pirate-ideology perhaps.

Not a very persuasive argument if you're running a sanctuary, holy light church, or trying to get them to agree with a bunch of peace-loving hippies.

I've not removed the ability for low mood to reduce belief, only made it so you can persuade someone over by treating them well in addition to the typical vanilla Rimworld pitch-black 1x2 ideo-conversion nightmare cells covered in vomit.

It makes sense though.
"I am getting tortured for believing in the wrong gods?"
"All this pain and suffering will go away if I embrace the new gods?"
"son of a betch, I'm in"

"Emergent behavior"
Read:
The game is intentionaly designed poorly
to allow RNG to dick you over as much as possible.

@Zorrobyte. It's because Tynan is good at triggering emergent stuff. You would want low mood in vanilla to recruit them faster, but it would also mean more prisoners escape.

Although I understand the aim of @RedMattis, this mod is disabling this emergent behavior...

I had no idea vanilla rimworld was the worse you treat prisoners, the better. Makes sense why I never could seem to get converts LOL

Asked Perplexity about it, and increasing mood, not lowering it seems to lead to better attempts via paper "Religion and Rehabilitation as Moral Reform: Conceptualization and Preliminary Evidence"

Thanks for the mod!

@PatoPixelado
Yes.

This is compatible with likely every mod on the workshop. :)

work okay with T's Conversion Staff?
RedMattis  [auteur] 27 aug 2024 om 0:36
@Naraxa
Probably. Iirc. I just check how happy they are and adjust certainty according.
Naraxa 26 aug 2024 om 14:24
Can this work with enhanced beliefs? They both change how certainty works and I'm curious how they'd interact with each other https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/comments/3233416451
