Creating a Reskin

To create a skin you simply have to import your changed texture under a different name into the worldbuilder. Your working folder (where your modified .tif file should be) must be connected to a SVN or have a dummy SVN folder. (A dummy SVN folder can be found here[em-hub.de])

Import Textures
  • Simply drag and drop your modified textures into the Worldbuilder to import them. The textures must be in Tif format and must not have any special characters or capitalization in their names (Only a-z, 0-9 and Underscore _).

Create Skinnable Mesh Component (This can be skipped if the vehicle already has this component)
  • Rightclick the mesh/tintable mesh component of the Vehicle and choose "Merge Component"
  • Choose "Skinnable Mesh Component"

Create a new material
  • Open the material browser with the "M" key
  • Press "New" to create a new material.
  • Close and open the Material Browser again. Then search for your newly created material with the search bar.
  • Add your textures and PBR maps in the appropriate lines and press "Save". (If the material causes any problems you can also press "Force Recompile" to reload all textures).

Add your new material to the Skinnable Mesh Component
  • You need the "Global Asset ID" of your newly created material. To do this, simply right-click on your newly created material in the Material Browser and select "Copy Global Asset ID".
  • Paste the "Global Asset ID" into the "Material" area of the Skinnable Mesh Component. The ID must be in square brackets! []
  • Then repeat this step for each door or other attachments.

Changing the Screenshot-Resolution and Creating Screenshots without the UI
  1. Go to "C:UsersYOURUSERNAMEAppDataRoamingPromotion Software GmbHEMERGENCY 5" and open the "emergency_5_settings.json"
  2. Scroll down to "em5::GameSettingsGroup" and search for "ScreenshotCapturingSize"
  3. Change the Capturing Size to your liking (This can even be bigger then your Monitor Resolution but has to be in the same Aspect Ratio!)
  4. Save the .json File and start your Game
  5. Take Screenshots with Print (Screenshots with the UI) or Right Ctrl+Print (Screenshots without the UI)(The higher the Resolution is the longer the Game will freeze to capture the Screenshot!)
  6. Screenshots are Saved under "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Promotion Software GmbH\EMERGENCY 5\screenshot"
Most common 16x9 Resolutions
  • FullHD: "1920 1080" - Low Filesize
  • 2K: "2560 1440" - Low Filesize
  • 4k: "3840 2160" - Mid Filesize
  • Retina 5k: "5120 2880" - High Filesize
  • 8k: "7680 4320" - High Filesize
  • 16k: "15360 8640" - Very High Filesize (Can Crash your Game!)

Im not that deep into map creation. You can try your luck in the Emergency Hub Forum or on one of the Discords i listed There should be people around that can help you with that question.

Is the project you are working on set as "Running Project" and Unlocked? You can do that in the Asset Browser (F11 - Right Click on the Project)

I am trying to modify terrain but it says "QSF editor failed to start terrain editing. Maybe the related assets are locked? What could it be?
