Stratovarius

Description
The Stratovarius is a Core9 Reforged Eden Fast-Battleship.

As it's name implies, the Strat is a meticulously crafted and finely tuned instrument of death. Weighing in just over 4 Kilotons with it's Core9 Armament, the ship is 30-50% lighter than anything else in it's class, this is a full 3 Array light-battleship operating on just 7 Drive thrusters in the game's most optimal arrangement. Making this a platform that does more, with less CPU and generator requirement.

Despite it's impressive speed and weight efficiencies, the Stratovarius is expertly and extensively armored. The ship is fully tested & explosion proofed, and has 8-10 layers of mixed Frontal composite armor, She is an out-of-the-box match for a Legacy Eradicator, and will down Infectors and Decimators with relative ease. You have Double-decoy generators, a decoy thruster, & a decoy weapon ( detector ) all armor wrapped and segregated within your nose, with each decoy having 3 or more blocks of full Combat steel in front. Directly behind your decoy section is your armored Warp compartment, giving you every targettable device type embedded into the nose of the ship, keeping enemy fire where it belong, on your armor.

The Strat features an innovative turret-mount design, made to hold either zirax turret models, player models, or BOTH. Each 3x3 wing-pod can hold players turrets on each it's sides, along with a zirax turret on it's front, these pods ALSO can be equipped with up to 4 Manual weapons each, making this ship the most customizeable and interchangeable core9 on the workshop. At full loadout, the ship holds up to EIGHTY ( 80 ) turrets and 20 Manual weapons.
The ship's pup-nature allows both rigid and generous frontal armor, as well as top speeds combined with handsome shield-heft for Dual-role Legacy-tanking and impressive shield-fighting capabilities.

The Stratovarius will kill Both the Legacy Eradicator, and the Tovera Dreadnought as a Core9, with the appropriate loadout, and an able pilot. The ship comes standard with 6 Artillery Cannons, 14 Advanced Lasers, 24 Sentry turrets, and 5 Cannon turrets for long range anti-drone defense. With an impressive anti-shield armament, and the Firepower to core most ships in 2-3 shots, this is a ship that means business, & ends fights quickly with very little ammunition.
The Strat has a 30k shield and respectable recharge, making you more than a match for most of the game's enemies.
Expansion space for 8 Medium shield chargers plus 3 arrays means this ship can be upgraded to a full 10/10 Battleship w/ 115k Advanced shield ( 135k w/ Regenerative shield, 170k w/ Bastion ) with impressive amounts of CPU left for weaponry.

The ship features full production capabilities with Harvest controller, Advanced Constructor, plus 2 Small constructors. Full medical bay, marked thruster expansion slots, & dual-hangars for a harvester or small SV.
With all 48 Solar panels standard, The Strat runs shield ON, detector/turrets ON at less than 1 Kilowatt of power draw, making this an impressively efficient, cheap to bring in, AND cheap to operate ship. It requires no kits, no aluminum, no platinum, and auxillary cores.

Enjoy,

Phenomenal. In my 3.3k+ Hours in EGS I have only come across one or two other builds that tick so many boxes for me. This is the only battleship in the current era of Reforged Eden that I would consider a must have. I have tried dozens of RE1 Core9 and higher battleships, none come close to having this sleek shape, this clear of turret firing lines, and this durable of a frame with decoys, and still have enough room for this many upgrades.

My hat is off to you ArtemisRogue, this thing is a living legend in my mind. A day after spawning it I have all 10 Aux core for it and numerous for other ships and I just pasted a Tovera with turrets at 1.1km while at 5FPS (potato PC)... in less than 5 mins. This ship obviates all threats I've seen without even Quants yet.

It's already been re-built for RE2, but was renamed "The Hero v2"

Another selling point not mentioned is that if you get into the superstructure of this ship there is actually room to cram all 50/50 crew (Human/Alien) into all the crevices for an easy 250k CPU before even getting Quants/Auxes. Turning this into the best version of a Core 9 available, I was able to then easily take on Swarm Controllers, Capacitor Arrays, and up to 2 Nullifiers at once using an only turret loadout (My potato PC can only manage ~10 FPS in combat so manual fire weapons are nearly impossible to be very accurate with). The extra 250k was a huge part of making that possible.

I hope you are planning to update this to RE2, because this is the only combat ship I want to or need in my life and I'm low-key waiting for it to try RE2 now.

@Artemis, First huge fan of your work, very innovative and creative designs! Bounced around on a lot of your and currently running this in Spanj's BE server.
How would this ship look fully kitted out? Besides shield pieces and fusion gen, I think I see what would look to be spots for additional thrusters behind the solar panels? Was there intenton for adding more thrusters?
Also what about weapon layout, I watched the video and it looks like that's just a TON of laser turrets? Genuinely ignorant question as I've barely killed Toveras before without having something that just massively overpowers them. I'm not the best at ship combat but I'm trying to learn.

2 Cap, 1 Charger, is how I rolled in this Xarq. Keep the charger out of the front-most position, as if you lose it, you probably wont be able to regen until it's replaced.

@Palentier - the Shield Relays still fit just fine as of 4/16/2024. You gotta rotate them around to the correct orientation.

Art,

I put a Fusion Reactor in one of the large spaces in the middle of the ship. As far as the other 3 large spaces - do you recommend 2 capacitor relays 1, charger ? or 2 chargers relays, 1 capacitor ?

You need to flip them on their side, with the top or bottom facing the front/back of the ship, as shown in the screenshot on this ship's workshop page shows. They were 5 x 5 x 4 blocks tall, I am not aware of them having been changed.

I'm not sure if an update has changed the size of shield arrays, but they do not seem to fit in the spaces you have provided. Any ideas about this?

Thank you very much for this wonderful ship, I think this is now my favorite, it flies great, shoots cool, and is very easy to control.
There are several questions:
1. Where do you plan to install the radar, I couldn’t find any special place for it, I stuck it there where the constructors are installed.
2. I still don’t understand what specific ships the small hangars are intended for. I thought about using some small ship for salvage, but I couldn’t find any suitable one.
3. I couldn’t understand how to use “marked thruster expansion” and how the engines should be installed in them.
4. The location of the medical capsules is such that if you are resurrected in one of them in a hangar with the engines running, you will immediately burn out.
