GC-Militia / Militia Overhaul mod

Description
Overview

  • Militia online hub with webshop
  • Webshop uses Bobby Rays item configuration
  • Militia base building
  • New operations
  • Changes to militia training
  • Enemies can be captured and interrogated
  • New logistic operation to transfer or sell items
  • Militia squads can be moved
  • Militia squads can be managed through squad management
  • Militia squads can be renamed
  • Militia soldiers have names, a hometown and a background story (thanks ChatGPT)
  • Militia soldiers have randomized stats and professions
  • Especially rookies but on veterans have worse morale when fighting away from home
  • The mod changes the default squad size to 8
  • Optional default - In combat, militia soldiers can be controlled by the player (auto-resolve is still possible)
  • Optional default - Randomized militia equipment based on the militia soldiers background
  • Optional default - Militia soldiers have to be paid continuously (additional costs when they are on campaign)
  • Optional default - Cities lose loyalty when too few soldiers (including mercenaries) are stationed

Compatibility with other mods

  • List will be updated soon

Currently Known Issues
  • Testing with 1.5 was limited, so it is possible that there are new unknown bugs
  • There can be bugs if the games language is changed. I am not sure if your game has to be on "AUTO" or in english. Still investigating.
  • If there is a militia squad at E9 or a militia squad moves to E9 at a certain event it will vanish. It does not break the event as I thought earlier it is just that the event is somehow broken as it only triggers if you defeat everyone at E9
  • You can deactivate the mod and your savegame will still work but there is no real uninstall at the moment. I am working on it.
  • Please make a backup savegame before activating this mod. Close and restart the game after activation.

Am i going crazy or did we use to be able to rebase militia to another town? I've recently picked up the game again and can't find a way of doing that for the life of me.

Walked into Ernie Fort with both my merc team and the militia. All enemies disappeared, I auto leveled up, and no idea what happened to Pierre.
Think I have to give up on this mod, already messed up multiple playthroughs and I don't have the patience to keep trying anymore.

Has anyone ever completed Rato's mods at highest difficulty + this Militia mod??

I set difficulty to the hardest with all the handicaps (less money less bullets less everything), along with 1.25x enemies. Ever dollar counts. I've completed the game vanilla mode but this is tough, constantly outnumbered by fully equipped enemies with insane marksmanship skills (crit hits even when hunkered down behind full cover).

With this GC Militia mod, it drains my even fewer resources since militia has daily wages. I'm constantly running out of money and having to restart due to making wrong early hiring decisions. Which is super frustrating after coming out of any incredibly difficult battle with multiple wounds that require treatment (since Heavy Wounds difficult stacks up multiple handicaps).

Is there an option to DISMISS the militia? Especially deadweight ones with really bad RNG stats.

@xDj4ng0x : Interface Tweaks has a feature to move militia, so I guess this is the feature incompatible with this mod. If you don't enable it, it should be fine, no ?

This is clearly one of the best mods created for this game. I recently got my hands on the Interface Tweaks, and though it mentions its incompatible with this mod, I tried it out to see what could be in the issue. Two things I noticed was the Squad Icons at the top overlap the button that switches between your AIM mercs and the militia squads. Not a big deal. The breaking issue appears to be squad inventory. As soon as you select anything other than the main inventory that shows everything (weapons, ammo, misc, etc) it freezes the game.

I'm likely to poke me head around your mod and that one to see if maybe I can figure out the "why", but was wondering if you had a chance to look into yourself at point and if you'd be willing to do so to find some compatibility between the two?
If I find anything I'll post here about it.

@permanent666 unbelievable mod - I did notice one kinda gamebreaking immersion bug was if you want to use the militia as cannon fodder like me, and bring them with the mercs, it auto wins the map basically. I went to the diamond mine with the mercs and it has them spawn where the enemy spawns and triggers the win.
