Small Coastal Tanker "MS Dirk" (Career Friendly)

Description
fic:

The MS Dirk is one of the first coasters built in Germany after the Second World War

In 1949 the ship was laid on the keel and after 4 months it was ready, the launch took place on September 8th, 1949 in Bremerhaven at the Lloyd shipyard.
The client MWB (MaSchienen Werke Bremerhaven) wanted a coaster for their fleet of tugboats and ocean-going tugboats that survived the second world war
since the concept of the ship was based on a general cargo freighter such as indicated cargo rooms and two cranes, which of course were redesigned for tanker operation

the ship got a radar in the 1960s and drove until the 1980s, after which the ship went into the ownership of the provat, where it went back to hobby driving from 1998 and regularly undertakes trips and sports on the German north sea coast until 2023 boats, hobby seafarers and from time to time work ships refueled

the ship here is in the condition after the 1960s with radar but without much technology, a simple ship that was built for refueling and also fulfills this task, whether in rough seas, fog or in the harbor, this ship has enough willpower to find its way tread!

the bridge is kept simple, there you will find everything important for driving, the filling and emptying of the tanks works quite well after a short experimentation and is easier than it looks at first glance

The engine is a bit heat-sensitive at 100% thottle, but sailing doesn't always go at full speed.
otherwise the handling is good except that it doesn't drive like a car when empty in rough seas, so be careful and it's best to always leave ballast in the form of small amounts of diesel (or something similar) in the tank!

Where is the diesel meter for the ship itself, not for the big tanks?

The 'standard' engine cooling unfortunately is just to throw both parts to in/out pumps directly into a 5x5 radiator.
A medium tank for the hot side gives it 60 ATM to work with, which ends with 256 ATM/Sec.

i have a new version with completly another engine, i need to update tthis, but i have sone rework thisg for the ship what I'm planing like better new deco, better MCs and more, this ship is very usefull for me

I've tried to cool this engine down with almost any method, but it seems always inefficient. While the high RPS may be one of he problems, i think the load itself might be the main problem, where the engine is underpowered for this boat, hence the quick overheating.

it yaws slightly, just set the trim on the bottom of the helm's options.

yes i know, i need to update this ship, but why trim?
AeryToast 7 Aug @ 10:29pm
when full, make sure to trim 0.04 otherwise it goes left too much.

(Trim is alt+ key)

I like this ship, I modified it using the new-ish 5x5 radiator mechanics so it cannot overheat. 20-60 ATM of fresh water is much better than ocean water sadly... and the engine room doesn't get hot with a radiator right inside it.

5x5 Radiator + 2 large pumps + medium tank at 60 ATM starting pressure => 20 ATM system pressure.

Make sure to remove the sea water cooling system if you are doing that since coolants mix indirectly and you will lose all pressure.

and this boat has a lot off tank capacity (sry i'm not a english man)
