Tired of feeding your prisoners Lavish Meals?
Need your animal handlers to stop bonding with livestock?
Want a colonist to avoid getting a new lover?
Have a worker on construction duty but shouldn't be building artistic furniture?


Pawn Rules is a mod that allows custom rules to be assigned individually to your colonists, animals, guests and prisoners. Default rules can be set for new pawns and new born animals will inherit their mother's rules.

Currently the following rules can be applied:
  • Disallow certain foods
  • Disallow bonding with certain animals
  • Disallow new romances
  • Disallow constructing items that have a quality level

Any of these rules can be disabled and hidden from the rules window. Rules presets and defaults can be imported and exported between games.

How to open rules dialog
Select a pawn and the rules button should appear next to the draft button. If you are using RimHUD then the rules button is integrated in the HUD and replaces the food restriction button.

Technical details
No update should ever break an existing game and this mod be added or removed at any time without issue.

Compatibility
This mod is not compatible with my other mod Animal Food Restrictions as this mod has a much more robust restriction system.

Other languages
For translators: Instead of including other languages with this mod, I would prefer and welcome translators to upload and maintain a language submod. If any translator would like the logo and art assets for this mod please contact me on Discord.

Pawn Rules supports addons created by other modders by allowing easy creation of new rule options while handling the GUI and world storage saving. Check out the wiki on addons.[github.com]

Really do hope the issues below get solved, seems like a super QoL mod

I had the same or similar problem as @Puph and @KaelynZ, however I solved my problem by placing a prisoner sleeping spot in another room, deleting the original bed and right-clicking move to bed on the prisoner, and then placing a new bed at the original spot and moving the prisoner back.

My problem may differ, since I've tried removing both this mod as well as Achtung!, with no success in fixing the issue. However, I think my issue was caused by replacing the sleeping spot my prisoner was sleeping in with a regular bed using Replace Stuff - Continued. Something about replacing the bed caused the prisoner to just stand still and eventually collapse from malnutrition and lack of sleep.

Echoing @Puph's problem - with this mod installed, i couldn't feed a prisoner. after removing the mod via it's options, i could. Shame. I really hope this gets fixed; it looks like a great QoL mod.

Pawns don't default to the default rules you make, they default to personalised.
Got caught out by that and wondered why they were eating things they shouldn't and i'm constantly having to assign to all animals when they give birth etc.

Using mod version 1.6.0 with RImworld version 1.5, the Assign window seems to bug out when desperate refugees join the colony.

I had to remove this mod.

My prisoners weren't eating despite putting them on unrestricted or even customizing their food. After removing the mod via the mod settings, my colonists food policies were bugged and did not open.

I had to delete my defaults, place everyone on unrestricted, and manually delete mod from my list. Now everything work without the mod.
