Description
!!!Campaign ready + Feature-Complete!!!


This mod adds a total of 40+ medieval-european maps (small and large variants included) to the MK1212ad mod, emphasizing the medieval feeling of your siege battles!

So far the mod includes 16 Central European maps; Western european cities use mostly white, half-timbered houses, the regions of the Holy Roman Empire, Hungary and Poland a mix of different colours and northern europe mostly reddish houses to emulate the strong reliance of brickstone in these regions.
The Mid-August-update added another 18 mediteranean and slavic city maps (including upgradeable small and large variants) for custom battle and campaign. The Late-August-Update finally added small variants also to the Central European maps, making them upgradeable and fully consistent with the rest of the map.

In this version of the submod ALL CITIES HAVE BEEN LINKED TO THE CAMPAIGN MAP, as well as all remaining vanilla cities. (you can find another, now outdated version for Custom battles only under this link; https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3010253808)

Since the Late-August-Update ALL cultures start with upgradeable maps, so the whole campaign map is consistent now! Because the whole campaign map now has functional medieval city-maps this mod can be regarded as FEATURE-COMPLETE! All maps, especially in campaign, are well playable, remaining bugs will be solved in future updates.

Also the development will be continued within the MK1212AD mod, so the maps will gradually be improved or exchanged for even better ones later on!

Installation;
-just download this mod and activate it in your mod manager
-it is recommended to place this mod above all MK1212 packs
-also you need to have the MK1212ad-mod installed


Some additional informations;
-In custom battles you can play all sieges by searching the settlements on the CB-map. HOWEVER if you want to play large-walled central European maps (HRE, Scandinavian, Hungarian or Polish maps) it is recommended to do so by choosing the available maps from the CB-list or choosing the reskin-version from western europe in the current state, since there is a known bug, that prevents these maps from having large siege equipment in custom battles (sieges played in campaign dont have this issue and are well playable)!
-Siege barricades on large maps are deactivated due to issues caused by them
-Although most bugs have been fixed by now, minor glitches (e.g. rivers not matching exactly with the surrounding area) can still occur and will be solved later on
-OTHER KNOWN BUGS are that; 1. "Flooded maps" and glitches with the surrounding area in the CB-list-option 2. Ai bugs out, if its attacking the city and some siege engines (ladder or tower) arrive much sooner at the wall than the other equipment

Major UPDATE 28.08.2023

-All campaign cities -Southern, Western, Central, Northern and Eastern Europe, as well as Eastern and Byzantine ones- now have both upgradeable small and large medieval city maps! So apart from some bugfixes for later on, this mod is FEATURE-COMPLETE now and will be added to the main mod!
-Added small variants to the Central European maps, making them upgradeable and fully consistent with the rest of the map!
-GearHawks Sassanid-retexture mod, which gives eastern cities a more medieval look also was integrated!
-Effects like city lights and ambient smoke were added to all maps!
-Siege escalation was added to all maps!
-Many bugs and glitches were fixed, only a few remaining (see "additional information")


Major UPDATE 14.08.2023

-Added slavic and mediteranean settlements, both with a small and a large version (in total 18 new maps).
-These new settlements also are playable on the campaign and in CB by searching them on the CB city-map (list-option deactivated due to some issues with them). On the campaign map these new cities will automatically update as soon as the corresponding city level is reached.

Guys, there are bugs, especially a lot with walls. Some places are not available for troop placement. It almost affects the gameplay and makes you more vulnerable when defending. For example, some parts of cities cannot be defended with archers and it was better in previous versions or even without Custom cities mod at all. When do you plan to fix them?

I'm pretty sure this is breaking the game. i'm going to try disabling it but i wasn't able to move any armies after 8 turns

bug report:

i ran into a strange problem with lagging unit animations despite having a smooth 60+ framerate, after disabling this mod the problem disappeared.

It's such a good mod i hope you can find a fix for that.

anyone know how to stop other religions spreading into your provinces? I am King Jerusalem, have a catholic church (lvl2) and surrounded by latin christians in Anatolia but somehow some provinces are being overtaken by Orthodoxy and others sunni islam. No armies, agents or factions bordering with either religion

Siege towers are broken in game. Units abandon them as soon as the reach the walls.
