Description
This is a BETA TEST branch.
The mod is being updated for b42, I'll slowly patch things up in my free time. A lot of the features are not updated for b42 and can cause issues.

Description
Immersive Solar Arrays (ISA) adds new items and lets you harvest solar power for the needs of your base!

Required Mods
You need to have TARGET SQUARE ON LOAD COMMANDS added to your save mod list if you want to spawn special crates with this mod. It is rather safe to add / remove on existing saves.

Notice!
  • Use only one version of the mod. Latest mod id is "ISA_41". If you have installed mods with same mod_id then you won't be able to select which one is loaded reliably.
  • Mods that delete changes made to default actions like inventory transfer and generator interactions can cause problems.
  • Enable x2 Textures in options or tiles will appear wrong in world.
  • Missing recipes link

  • If you have problems downloading the mod with steam, you can find the latest version of the mod on GitHub.
  • Some options require game reload, Stash Houses might need a new game to work properly.
  • It's advised to test this mod in debug before adding it to your modlist, if you add it to an existing save then you should create a save backup.

I found a bug that's not covered above, what to do now?
First of all, you should try to reproduce the bug with only this mod enabled and write the steps necessary to reproduce the bug. If you can't reproduce it with only this mod then try to limit it to a specif set of mods. Check your logs for errors and post them with any other relevant information.

Alrighty, So I have loaded this mod to a MP Server. 1st time trying it out. looks awesome. wtf do I find the books? my buds and I have scoured most of the major cities and we cannot find a book. We even did an admin item search, cant find it on a pass by, what is the name of the book? maybe i missed it. or does anyone have suggestions on locations?

I wish the battery banks could be chained together. I have a full stack of 16 400Ah Deep Cycle batteries, and I spent a long long time setting up a solar array so I could charge them quickly. Yet I struggle with outages because I threw it up on the southside roof of the Irvington Speedway. But it only lasts 6hrs because it's a big building. It's very reasonable. But when I hopped into Dev mode I discovered that you can't chain them or make them work together.Two battery banks die at the same rate. Maybe it would be cool if we could build two banks and tie them together or build a bigger version? Just a thought! Awesome mod!

What does this mean? Do i change my "Maximum Texture Size" from 256 to 512?

We have modded solar, if only there were other ways to generate power. Plenty of DIY real life ways to do so even with a DIY motor using just a rod, copper wire, and magnets as a long as you have a way to spin the motor externally so why couldn't we do so in zomboid? Steam power, water wheels, windmills, list goes on for possibilities that could be attached to motors for electricity. Shoot, pretty sure actual wind turbines exists in zomboids time period.

Here's to hoping the zomboid devs goal of making long term sustainability eventually covers electricity too since this mod shows alternative options that can also be used to complement others can only enhance the game
