Prop Control 1.0.1

Kuvaus
A lightweight alternative for Prop Anarchy for those who don't want to (or can't) use Prop Anarchy or Extended Managers Library. Written with an emphasis on stability, to avoid the current issues with Prop Anarchy/Extended Managers Library.

Provides the following functionality:
  • Prop anarchy: disable collision checking for props
  • Prop snapping: raise or lower props to custom heights, and attach them to buildings (as you can in the asset editor)
  • Prop precision: stores detailed prop position information for precise alignment of props (the unmodded game has a limited prop position resolution, e.g. making fences impossible to line up correctly)
  • Prop scaling: change the size of props
  • Decal prop fix: correctly display large (above 8m x 8m) decals and enable decal texture tiling (required for some custom decals to display correctly)
  • Adaptive prop visibility distance: customize the visibility ranges of props, including dynamic calculations to permit larger props to be visible for longer distances (disabled by default - see under 'Use' below).

Use with Line Tool for prop line tool functionality.

Change prop colors with Prop Painter Revisited.

Select your props the normal way: either with the in-game prop tool (under Paks and Plazas), or (much better) using Find It 2.

Now includes Move It! integration to change the scaling and elevation of existing props.

Does not include Additive Shader; For Additive Shader functionality, use Visibility Control.

Incompatible mods

This mod will automatically load any savegame data stored by the above mods, except for Extended Managers Library/Prop Anarchy; for those two mods, a new "Remove EML" mod will soon be released to convert their data to Prop Control format.

Use

See the mod's options panel for the available options. Most of this mod's functionality doesn't need options.

The default key to toggle prop anarchy is Ctrl-P. Text will display towards the bottom-left of the screen indicating the current status (on or off) of prop anarchy.

Adaptive prop visibility distance (which extends the visibility distance for props based on their size) is DISABLED by default from mod version 0.9.3 onwards, as it does have a performance impact (because you're rendering more props, obviously). It can be activated in the mod's options panel.

Meta
This mod uses Harmony[github.com] version 2.2 by Andreas Pardeike via the Cities Harmony mod by boformer.

Saves additional prop data in the savefile (obviously), but doesn't alter any savefile structure, and can be safely removed at any time (obviously, any prop precision or snapping placements will be reset to game defaults if you do this).

Safe for editor use - will automatically (harmlessly) disable itself in any editor other than the map editor.

I think he just misread your comment. I don't think he realized you weren't actually looking for help with anything. You just wanted to complain about how it wasn't working for YOU because you did something wrong. He didn't realize you knew that because you weren't interested in reading the descriptions or directions that you knew it would be impossible to help you. You see, you weren't clear about how you were aware that the mod works just fine with no issues and that you knew you had made a plethora of mistakes because you didn't read anything about modding this game. Just be a little more clear on that point next time, I think

Might need a holiday mate.

@Azarilh Unfortunately, the asset serialization means that is the limit of what can be saved in those assets - even if you could place props in another manner, they wouldn't load properly. Fine-tuning of placement can only really be done when you can serialize additional data to a savegame (like this mod does).

@Jass Really, really, really not a helpful comment. Which problem? You've clearly read the comments below, so why have you not bothered to answer any of the questions I've asked of others. Is your aim to annoy and frustrate me?

Alright reinstalled everything and it seems to work again, however I have an issue with my decals resize/ staying small.

I run into the same problem as the people bellow, Algernon.

Please don't read my messages with an upset tone, i am glad you published this mod for others to use for free, helping countless people enjoy the game more. If it doesn't work for me, it's whatever, i'll cope. :v

The vanilla snapping is extremely limiting, props only snap to the grid, they don't snap to other props.
Also this mod seems to not work even during gameplay, anarchy does nothing. Maybe it's a mod conflict, i am looking into it.

@Azarilh In addition to what @patrioticparadox says, the asset editor already comes with prop snapping (and anarchy is irrelevant in the editor), so this mod wouldn't add anything useful in the asset editor anyway.

For clarity, it is likely that it is the other mods causing the issue rather than Render It. Have you checked Skyve?
