A species related to the Grind Worm.

The Spear Worm hunts by closing in on prey; poking its head out of the ground, locking on using its compound eyes, and kills its chosen prey by firing projectiles made of bone at high speed, aimed at their vulnerable undersides.

After the prey is dead; it will use its front claws to drag them underground, and tear them apart for easier consumption.

The bone projectiles fired by the Spear Worm are produced in its larger middle body section using excess calcium from its diet.

Fun side fact:
Tr'allanga scientists were never able to decide if the Spear Worm should be considered a worm at all; due to its highly developed front claws, antenna and use of eyes; despite living underground and pulsating its body to move.
