Little Garden

In 1 collection by MARH
MARH's mod
36 items
Description
This mod adds furniture for decorations.

You can unlock all new furniture by researching a new research "Little Garden".
After that all new furniture will appear in the "FURNITURE - Garden" category in the building menu.
"Little Garden" is a level 2 core research and needs no research cost.

No import is required.
When removing this mod, I recommend dismantling all new furniture from this mod.

To ease selecting decorative objects, I added a "fake functionality" to the objects to display a gear icon when your cursor is on the object. The fake functionality does nothing, but if it annoys you, try this removal mod.
Little Garden Fake Func Removal

-CAUTION-
Do not build objects on defensive gates.
It causes pathfinding issues, and the gate will become impassable.

Please make sure the bottom step of the Wood Deck touches the ground.
Characters cannot climb a deck if the bottom step is floating.

Watch your PC's movement when you build a Wood Deck on rugged, impassable terrain.
Uneven terrain may affect the pathfinding of the deck.

If an impassable area exists at the base of Garden Bridge, characters cannot pass the bridge.
And sometimes, an "invisible wall" appears in the middle of your bridge.
Then try Shift+F12 → NAVMESH TOOLS→ press [Regenerate Sector] 2~3 times.

-Note-
Two-seater benches are not actually chairs.
Thus characters will not automatically go to sit on a two-seater bench if you turn the "Sitting when Idle" AI on.
Assign the benches as characters' job. →About two-seater benches

You can adjust the height and angle of an exterior-only furniture.
But you can place only exterior-only tableware on it.
Please use exterior-only furniture in combination with exterior-only tableware.

Stone Lanterns consume power.
This setting is for turning off the lanterns if lights are not needed.

There are 2 types of wood decks.
The Type I deck is designed to build vanilla furniture on its board, but you cannot bring Type I decks closer to other buildings.
Type II deck has the opposite features: You can build a Type II very close to other houses. But you cannot build most vanilla furniture on the deck.
In short, Type II is the building for my furniture mods or the Shift+F12 users. s
Also, the top of the Type II deck is OUTDOOR; you cannot build tatami on the Type II deck.

Please make sure additional steps touch the ground.
Also, you can build only one set of steps at a time.
If you want to attach multiple Wood Deck Steps on a deck, place a set and press "Confirm." Then you can build the next set.

--------------------------------------------
UPDATE 22 September
Add Sake Barrels and Sake Wooden Cups as tableware
Change the height of the interior Garden Parasols
Change the build costs and build speed multi of wood decks
Delete unused material
Delete an unused texture

UPDATE 1 September
Add 8 Tatami Mattress
Add a cushion that can be placed on top of Tatami
Reduce the vertexes of Garden Stool Red/Blue
Change the path mode of Tables to Projected

Tatami Mattresses are thick flooring materials for indoor use only.
Most vanilla furniture cannot be built directly on Tatami because most vanilla furniture uses 3D models that intersect with the floor.
Many furniture often has Use Nodes, which hinder furniture stacking too.
A few vanilla furniture can be placed on the Tatami, but it is easier to use Shift+F12.
The indoor furniture in Little Garden is designed to be placed on tatami mats, except for those with nodes.

Thank you for letting me know. The pathfinding near doors and gates is always troublesome. Maybe there is no complete solution, but your comment can help others.

By the way, using wood partitions as wall lining sounds good :)
Thank you for trying my mod!

I've used the garden walls to spruce up the inside of my buildings by placing them against the walls with the ingame editor, creates a real nice effect of wood paneling. However I can't place the square tatami indoors because it will keep messign up the pathfinding particularly when placed near a door, and it can prevent me from even entering the building. I guess it's the same issue that causes pathfinding problems with placing objects on gates that the screenshot warns about, I was able to place one of the single long tatami indoors a distance away from the door which has not caused any pathfinding issues so far. I have not tried this with every building, only the small shack so far. Not a complaint just more of a heads up for people who use this mod.

I am glad to hear that. :)
Without your report, I would not have recognized that the fake functionality could be annoying. Now, I plan to make a similar patch mod for the Campfire with Stand because the mod uses the same fake functionality.
Thank you again for giving helpful information!

For now I could not reproduce the issue, but your report indicates that "fake functionality" seems suspicious.
I made a mod to remove that fake functionality as a temporary measure.

Would you mind trying it?

Thank you for reporting.
Most of the furniture added by this mod is just decorative items. The only furniture that has real inventory space is the sake barrels.

As for interactive icons, the small objects, such as sake bottles and teacups, are hard to select when on the table. So, I added a "fake functionality" that displays a gear icon when a cursor is placed on decorative objects.
Example Image
The fake functionality itself does nothing. When you right-click an object with fake functionality and select " Inventory," the character's inventory window will open, but nothing more.

First of all, thank you very much for your mod. This is a fantastic module.I love it.But I encountered some trouble.Buildings like sake and fences will have interactive buttons. When I click on the interaction, a border similar to inventory will pop up and then i will crash.I'm wondering if it conflicts with other furniture building mods.Or are these types of buildings inherently non interactive and only for viewing purposes

What a beautifull mod! Thank you!

No biggie, I consider it SOP to report back if and how I get bugs & glitches ironed out. I know from experience that in 9 out of 10 cases where mods seemingly not work correctly, it is indeed not the mod, but user error that prevents it from functioning right.
And I really hate those customers who first cry 'bout a mod being broken, then just be like "Oh, no matter, I fixed it..." without any further explanation, and never comment again.

@iriemk
Thank you for reporting, and I'm glad to hear your game is functioning correctly now. I genuinely appreciate your taking the time to solve this issue. Your report will help others to solve future CTD issues!

For reference :
I received a report about the Beak Thing Statue mod, similar to the CTDs you experienced in the building menu. In that case, the auto-icon generation process was suspicious. So I made icon images beforehand and included them in the mod folder, and then the CTD stopped.
