Description
This mod lets you easily customize the intro text for when you start the game.

This was inspired by This Is How You Commited Tax Evasion, but made in a cleaner and self-contained format. This mod does not perform any hard translation overwrites and only modifies the intro.

Instructions
  1. Subscribe and download the mod
  2. Navigate to the mod folder (file path on Windows):
    ../Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/108600/2924823167/mods/CustomZomboidIntro/
  3. Find your language located in:
    ../CustomZomboidIntro/media/lua/shared/Translate/
  4. Open the UI_##.txt file and write your own custom intro
  5. Use the images above as a reference

Compatibility
  • Compatible with any mod that does not touch the intro sequence
  • Multiplayer compatible (purely client-side)
  • Save-game compatible

Languages
Every language supported by the game has the option to write a custom intro. However, not every language has a custom intro by default. If you have a funny intro for your language that you would like to share, provide them to me below. Thank you!

Ktorr2 - for the original intro mod. It is really funny, and made me start thinking about modding PZ.

Your version is public on the Workshop, right? It has to be for the requirement to work.

its strange, even with making my own version, and naming it something different it still shows up as this mod, even when it has my mods ID and NAME in the mod manager list.

This mod is completely client-side. Load order doesn't matter, but a player could technically connect without it. Maybe take a look again at the required mods on the server? You may not actually have the mod installed.

so, i made my own version of this, i have the server require it, and still shows the default message....how is it injecting this? where at on the load order should it go?

I'm curious if there's a way to code it to display the in-game's current date and time like:

Line 1: July 20th

Line 2: 12:45 pm

Line 3: The Journey Continues

Thanks!!

Only the person who has the mod installed. If the host has the mod and the client has the mod, then everyone can see it. But, the client will not see the changes the host makes to the mod. For that you need to upload your version.

You will need to edit the file, upload your version of this mod to the Steam Workshop, and have the server require that version for any players that join. It is purely client-side, the only interaction the server would have is making players install the mod.

Hi, I'm having issues getting the changes i've made to actually stick. ive edited the UI_EN.txt, saved the changes and restarted the server but it always shows the original text for the mod. Could someone help with what im doing wrong?
