KRH Ranger 1 Cruiser Heavy Scout

This is my recreation of the Ranger 1 Cruiser from my favorite 80s cartoon Galaxy Rangers. The ship is a modular ship consisting of 2 to 3 units combined together. A command unit, a drive unit, and an optional mission unit. The command unit contains the main crew quarters, flight deck or bridge, and other general crew support facilities. The drive unit contains the vessels power-plants, engines, hyperdrive (or jump drive in this case) and other general flight support equipment. The optional mission unit would contain storage and or equipment and facilities specific to a particular mission or destination.

This version of the craft features just the drive unit and the command unit intended as a general transport and scout vessel. The ship is made with heavy armor blocks. The main body of the ship features 3 decks. The drive unit also features a deck in the top and bottom necks, as well as the engine nacelles. The drive unit and command unit can be separated by disconnecting the 4 merge blocks holding them together. Each unit contains a full set of Ion thrusters and gyroscopes allowing them to be independently flown for stability and docking of the units together.

As the ship is quite heavy due to the use of the heavy armor blocks I resorted to some mods to make the ship effectively flyable. The ship has 6 large powerful gyroscopes (mod), and 8 plasma thrusters (mod). In the show, the ship is equipped with a pair of lasers in the nose, so I used a pair of mods to provide the lasers. One mod provides the lasers and the other is a core mod needed by the laser's mod.
