This ship uses only vanilla (non-DLC) components so it should be playable in any save.

This ship has far more thruster and gyroscope power than is needed for a ship it size. This is to allow the ship to move object far larger and more massive than itself. The gyroscopes are divided into 2 groups. The primary group of gyroscopes is just enough gyroscopes need to change the attitude of the ship without a load. The extended group of gyroscopes is used for adjusting attitude while under a load. The ship can be difficult to control with the extended gyroscopes turned on when you do not have a load.
