Description
Intro

This is a scenario mod that adds an end-goal to the game as well as reason to explore planets and interact with NPCs.

Enigmatic ancient temples were discovered on planets in star system which are rumored to posses advanced alien artifacts. Players goal is to visit every temple and collect all of the artifacts. The catch - exact locations of the temples are not known. Fortunately there are many explorers in the system who are trying to find these same temples as well, so you should be able to get GPS coordinates exploring onboarded ships and installations of other factions. Each planet seems to have 3 temples placed around the planet. Due to being ancient most of them are covered in sedimental layer, so player will have to dig to find them.

Setup

1. Create a new custom game, choose Star System (or create custom star system)
2. Add this mod to mods
3. Add NPC mods of your choice
4. Add any additional mods you prefer
⚠ There might be compatibility issues with various mods. Check Known Issues section and recommended collection for tested mods. Add other mods at your own risk. ⚠
5. Start the game

Quest log should appear showing the progress of the mission. Press "|" to toggle visibility of questlog.

Star system

Both vanilla and custom systems can be used for this scenario. The only condition - all planets must be added to the game before adding this mod. Recommended amount of planets for this scenario is 8-12. (vanilla system has 8 planets)

NPC mods

This scenario can be played on fully vanilla game, but having several MES mods is highly recommended. You will need to explore lots of NPC ships/installations to find the coordinates to the temples. Also selecting NPC mods allows to make this scenario as hard or easy as you prefer. Some balanced and tested mods are added to recommended mods collection.

Known Issues

- ⚠ Game crashes/Questlog appears empty if "Hud Compass" mod is used!
- ⚠ Compatability issues with "Sleep Mod" have been reported
- Spiders from "Infestation Enabled" does not move when spawned inside temple.

Reporting issues

Please report any issues you encounter to help make this mod better.
When reporting be mindful to provide all possible information, so I can debug and fix it.

This is the minimum information needed when reporting a problem:

- List of all mods used in a game in exact order (take a screenshot of mods menu of save game)
- Latest log, just after issue or crash happened. Log is located:
"C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\SpaceEngineers_<datetime>.log"
- Screenshot of problem if it is visible in-game

Provide any additional information/details that might help.

Use online services like Imgur, pastebin or others to share screenshots/logs/etc.

F.A.Q.

- Does it work with Water mod?

Yes, get ready for some marine archeology!

- I am using QWERTZ keyboard, "|" does not hide the quest log?

"^" (also ° with shift) up left, right below the Esc key, toggles the quest log.

- Can I use it with Gas Giants?

Mostly yes. These planet names are blacklisted to not spawn temples: "Overvent", "Gas Giant", "Jupiter", "Saturn", "Telos", "Luma", "Paradise", "HELL", "Mila"

- Does it work with Rust mod?

Yes, temples are immune to rust.

Dominik, it does work... I was having problems and then i discovered i had many many mods installed. Uninstall everything, keep them liked if you want to use them again and only install the mods required for the game

For anyone interested, this mod defeinitely still works! I've got a 110-mod collection that focuses around Ancient Astronauts and I know for a fact it works as intended if you set it up right! https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3138611210 . All of these mods are usable with AA with the right load order. If the mod doesn't initiate right, you have to make sure you completely restart the game before you start a new world with this mod or VSP will likely leak events from other mods. Its a buggy mess to setup but once it starts working it stays working as long as you never transfer saves or any of that nonsense

I believe this is sadly a dead mod. It looks like the authors have abandoned it and no longer offer support. It initially worked for me, but it didn't mark a temple I found green as it's supposed to after you find the package, and then all the other temples just disappeared from all the planets (including the one I already found). Anyone know of a more current version of this mod that someone else is maintaining? I love the idea of an endgame in SE.

Okay so I went back to the temple I already found and it's completely gone so I think something is wrong. Is it safe to uninstall and reinstall the mod? Will that potentially fix it, or should I do something else? Can I send you any logs to help debug?

How far out from the GPS marker could the temples spawn? I found the beta one on the Alien planet only a few meters under the marker, but I've been digging around looking for the gamma one for an hour now and still can't find it. I've gone down 40 meters and dug out a huge hole looking for it, but still haven't found it. Any help or tips would be appreciated!

Tip: You may need to dig around to find temples as they're not always visible from the surface.

btw, i am using only MES, Weapon core and some weapons for WC framework
