Faction Control (1.4-1.6)

"Faction Control" provides you with a number of configuration options that you can use to tailor which and how many faction groups and faction bases show up on your map. Simply visit "Mod Settings" from the game's "Options" menu.

Struggle with the settings?
Here are two video:
- Grouped but overlapping settings
- Grouped and not overlapping settings
Tips:
To everyone who has factions spawning right next to each other despite your min/max distance settings and setting density to ON, turn off the max distance. Use only the min distance, this fixed it for me. It also fixes large areas of the globe being left empty.

Options:
Disable Faction Limits
Enabling this setting will allow the Create World menu to add more than 11 factions to a world.

Override Faction Max Count
Force modded factions that do not specify "maxConfigurableAtWorldCreation" to show up in the base game's Create World Faction Count tab.
It's on by default. If anyone runs into issues with this setting please disable it in settings and restart the game.

Population Override
If the Min/Max values are changed, this will greatly override the "Population" slider on the Create World page.

Tile Distance Between Faction Groups
Specify either/both the Minimum/Maximum distances that faction groups can spawn from each other.

This is an advanced option and can easily prevent faction groups from spawning on the map and will take many tries to get the values to work. Leave it disabled to keep base game behavior.

Faction Base Density
Allows Factions' settlement to be closer together. If "Off", the base game's logic is used. If "On", the settlements will be closer together the more "Crowded" the slider bar is moved to the left.

Dynamic Coloring and Goodwill has been broken out into its own mod (UPDATED TO 1.4)

There should be no limits. However, the more strict you make your settings the harder it becomes to spawn ALL factions or on a small world any at all.

Here's some tips:
- Firstly definitely look at the videos in the description, they show what most people are looking for, and if you play with the settings you can even combine/mix and match.
- Switch seed, the distribution uses it, so changing Faction Control settings but not the seed might result in just minor changes (unless your Faction Control setting changes were huge).
- Larger planets DO help with more factions, if thats too much for you machine, combine Faction Control with My Little Planet, which is an awesome mod and IS 1.6 already

Is there a soft-limit on how many factions you can have before the mod stops working? I have like 20-25 and no matter what settings I change distribution looks identical --- or no faction bases spawn at all if I go to the real extremes

UPDATE WHEN????????????????

Some ideas:

1) Option to make specific factions to favor spanning close to each other to allow for things like coherent cultural groups.

2) Option to set it so specific factions have environmental preferences you can set by things like temp or biome.

3) a max/min settlements option.

Can I change xenotype in faction in this mod?

Could you mention that it's compatible with Vanilla Expanded Framework in the desc? I checked the description of this mod before I checked VEF.

@TheRealLemon I have tried with the settings, even with only this mod installed from a fresh install and all I get is small amounts of bugs and bases all grouped together in a small portion of the map while the rest of the map goes unused.
