Kakaso'Las Totem Pole
The Kakaso'Las totem pole is one of a number in Stanley Park, Vancouver, Canada and was carved by Ellen Neel and her uncle Mungo Martin for Woodward's Department Store, in 1955.

A large thunderbird with outstretched wings sits on top of a sea bear clutching an orca, followed beneath by a human man holding a frog. Below that is bak’was, or 'wild man of the woods' with a large yellow nose that looks like a beak. Further down the giantess Dzunukwa sitting with her hands holding her knees and her lips open. Finally, at the bottom sits the Raven.

Ellen Neel was a Kwakwakaʼwakw artist woodcarver and is the first woman known to have professionally carved totem poles. She came from Alert Bay, British Columbia, and her work is in public collections throughout the world.

This asset was commissioned by nicocn383 for his fictional city of Strathcona based on a mix of Seattle, WA and Vancouver, B.C. Essentially a rainy and green North American city on the Pacific coast.

To place this prop search for "Totem" with the FindIt mod.

I've tried to make this asset as realistic as possible and therefore the geometry tri count is high and the textures large. All of the texture elements have been created specifically for this asset in order for full control over the final look.

Thank you! All my cities are Canadian west coast inspired. ( Mainly Inspired from Victoria BC and Vancouver BC ). And I feel Totem poles are essential for any west coast cities.

This is one of the best things I have ever found in the Workshop. I am from Victoria, Canada (but live in England) and this is such a lovely reminder of the west coast.
