IN ASSET EDITOR USING THE Extended Asset Editor


As a successor to the TRAXX1, the TRAXX2 features an overhauled drivers cabin looks with improved crash test durability. The TRAXX2 is currently in use in 17 different european countries. Bombardier sold over 1600 locomotives to various railway companies, for cargo aswell as passenger transportation.
TRAXX stands for Transnational Railway Applications with eXtreme fleXibility.
There are 3 different types of the TRAXX2: F140 MS2, F140 AC2 and P160 AC2 where F stands for Freight (Cargo) and P for Passenger. 140 and 160 are the 2 types of engines used for the TRAXX2. MS stands for multi-system meaning that it is able to operate on DC and AC railways.

I settled for the F140MS2 (4 current collectors), since its easier to just have one model for all designs. The model turned out decent (not my best, but good enough), you can notice a slight difference to the original on the drivers cabin, it is less steep and has a bit of a different shape at the top. (Maybe i was drunk when i made these parts, idk what happened :/).

Texture-wise i tried to play bit more with grunge effects. Most noticeably on the dampers and on the specularity. For the rest i just went with my usual workflow, since i needed to get used to the "new" blender version.


This Pack contains 17 different TRAXX2 Cargo Train Engines:
  • Captrain (white / green)
  • ChemOil (red / blue)
  • Crossrail (bright grey / red)
  • DB (red)
  • GreenCargo (black / green)
  • HVLE (grey / orange)
  • Lineas (dark blue / turquoise)
  • Locon (red / blue)
  • LTE (grey)
  • Mercitalia (red / grey)
  • Metrans (grey)
  • Railion (red)
  • Railpool (grey)
  • RheinCargo (red)
  • RSC (red)
  • SBB (red / blue)
  • SNCB (white / turquoise)
  • + all engines as trailers
    (for double-traction trains with different designs)


For all my models i used the following programs:
  • Blender v3.20 for raw modelling
  • paint-net for diffuse / alpha / color-var. / illum. / specular textures
  • AwesomeBump for normal texture

and with alot of ram load i mean so much ram that it caused my game to crash. or would load for like 10 minutes when i only have like 10 engine assets activated in the content manager.

yea its unfortunate. since ive reduced the trailer count to be 0 when saving the asset. ive recently tried this out and found this out aswell. i will try to fix that in the upcoming days (with the older packs aswell). before i released my very first loco pack i tried for them to just have 1 trailer. but cities would get an incredible amount of ram load when i saved multiple train engines like this (since the game apparently doesnt recognise i used the default trailer for all those engines).

if the ram load doesnt increase like it did back in the day i will update the loco packs so they have at least one trailer so that you can properly use it with RTT even when not making a train asset.

in the mean time. im sorry. but i had to do it this way :/

Is it really needed to edit them with the Extended Asset editor before I can use them.
I've tryed to use the RTT mod to add trailers but I only get the trains without trailers
