GX - Blanco Cartel (Faction Mod)

I have been wanting to create a "Bad guy" faction for a while now and around 7400 lines of code later here it is :D. So if you are looking for a new enemy to fight then look no further! I tried to keep the mod as lightweight as possible so it's mainly vanilla assets, some reskins but also some custom models like the masks. I have also written some lore/story to go with the faction if you are into that. (see below)

Also please check out my Object mod here which goes well together with this as it offers items that a cartel would trade with like money, drugs, etc.

This is my first faction mod so any feedback is appreciated!

Below is a list of all the objects that the mod adds to be used in both the Eden Editor and Zeus.

Soldiers are also split into Heavy and Light in terms of gear. This mainly refers to their vests and again is made for your convenience when placing them. For me personally from a lore perspective, the Blanco soldiers use the Heavy Armor but I also understand that they can take a lot of shots which not everyone enjoys, so whatever floats your boat.
The Ballistic Masks are custom models that are provided with this mod. They are the signature item of the Blanco Cartel. The masks "Good", "Extreme" and "God" have different armor values in the config and the one that's just called "Ballistic Mask" has the same value as a normal Combat Helmet. All soldiers come with and without NVG's.

The Blanco Cartel (Story/Lore)

The Blanco family used to live a quiet and peaceful life in a small Columbian city. Carlos and Maria Blanco started a family and had two boys, Miguel and Javier. They all lived a simple life, Carlos worked as a mechanic and Maria stayed at home to look after the house and raise the kids.
As the parents grew older the boys looked for a way to help and contribute financially as their father through many years of hard work was having medical issues which was draining their life's savings.

This is what unbeknownst to them would set them on a path of unfathomable riches and blood…


The Blanco boys tried everything to get their father the medical help he needed, but their extended family and friends turned out to be the kind that would only help if it didn’t impact their lives and had no money to spare for an old man who had seen better days.

It didn’t take long after that for a local Cartel to get wind of two boys looking for work and occasionally pulling a con or two to earn extra cash. The Cartel offered them money they could only dream off and their demands didn’t seem too extreme at first with the occasional burglary here and there…. at first….

It turned out that Miguel, who had always been good in school, had a knack for the logistical and planning part of their operations. On the other hand Javier was always a more practical person and was good with his hands, so he became the muscle.

Around their 19th birthday Javier and Miguel “graduated” to their first murder as one of the burglaries went wrong and the home owner came home early and tried to defend his home. The wife was sitting in the car, heard the shots and drove away. The cartel was furious as they let a witness get away and sought to teach them a lesson.
Through the cartel's connections in the police they tracked down the wife and forced Miguel to kill her to clean up their mistake.

Now that the cartel had their hook in them properly they continued to pressure the Blanco boys into more and more violent jobs…

A few years later the boys had made good progress and worked their way up in the cartel's organization. They were at this point trusted soldiers with many notches on their belts, especially Javier. Miguel knew what had to be done when it came to cartel business but he was simply not the violent type. However he was making the cartel a lot of money and had optimized many of their logistical ventures such as money laundering and transport of product.

The cartel that they were a member of and another cartel were looking to do business and had come to a mutual agreement. The deal was to be finalized during a party at one of the bosses villas, but unbeknownst to anyone this evening of celebration would be the downfall of both cartels.

It was a party and the Blanco boys were invited as guests amongst many many others. Javier got enchanted by a girl his age during the party and they headed to one of the many upstairs bedrooms. What Javier didn’t know was that this was the daughter of one of the other cartel bosses.

He was quickly found out and the cartel boss was enraged beyond belief. Their cartel boss managed to convince him not to kill him right then and there but agreed that they must be punished. The Blanco boys were beaten and brought to a warehouse thinking they would be killed. But to their horror they were made to watch as their parents, who were the entire reason for why they were doing what they were doing got executed right in front of them.

That night which marked the death of their parents the Blanco brothers swore they would get revenge and Miguel managed to convince Javier not to go on a murder spree but instead be smart about it.
They spent months planning before they started acting all the while they were playing the loyal soldiers for the cartel that had murdered their parents. At first they weakened both cartels by making it look like one was cheating the other out of profits. Later they staged robberies of the trucks moving product leaving evidence behind on purpose to make it look like the cartel was involved.

This sparked a war between the two cartels and weakened them considerably. The Blanco brothers had the respect and loyalty of the other cartel soldiers that worked with them directly and they further cemented that loyalty by keeping them safe during the cartel war.
It wasn’t long after that they executed the final step of their plan which was to infiltrate and execute all the top leadership of both cartels at the same time. The plan went perfectly and the war ended in a single night.

This is how the Blanco Cartel was born. With the resources from both Cartels consolidated they were a formidable player. They soon began to take over territory and other cartels entirely and grew their local cartel into an international operation of a magnitude that is yet unknown.
