Auster Village Template Pack

Description
This package contains the basic buildings and infrastructure for the Auster theme.

Auster is a simple stone-and-wood theme, prominently featuring dark stone arches, hearty stone walls, mandatory fireplaces for the cold north, and typically wooden second floors and roofs. The simple coloration and patterns were chosen for the Northern Alliance and make a fantastic base for lots of plants and decor.

Care has been taken to construct buildings from basic walls and floors where possible. This makes buildings easy to recolor to match your tastes; even the arches are carved from walls so they can be recolored at the click of a button. The main exceptions to this rule are the roofs and stairs, which are necessarily constructed from individual blocks due to their more complex and custom nature.

I highly recommend the use of Finery mod, I like to use its juniper and pine wood furnishes with Auster. I also typically use iron candle holders indoors and iron lanterns outdoors.

Be sure to modify furniture selections to match what your village has available before clicking "build"!

All template names are prefixed with "Auster" for searching purposes.

Included templates
  • Hovels: (3 variations): small sized, single-room homes
  • Cottages: medium sized, multi-room homes (1 so far, more coming!)
  • Loft: a hovel with the bed upstairs
  • Workshop: a simple two-room building meant to serve as cozy crafting space for any of your early crafters, with an attached living space.
  • Inn: comfy room for 5 beds upstairs, dining for the whole village downstairs, and a small starter kitchen space. This can serve as an early central building for sleeping your hearthlings, but is destined for travelers from afar!
  • Lodge: a large, multi-level building, designed around a central room for dining and congregating with a large central fireplace, a dedicated kitchen for a master cook, and ten bedrooms. Inspired by fantasy hunting lodges, this building makes a great focal point in a sizable village.
  • Woodcutter: a little shack for chopping and storing firewood
  • Fountain: a hearty covered fountain surrounded by warm fires for those long Northern winters. Fill with water and turn on the central pump so your hearthlings will have easy drinking water access.
  • Bridge pieces: end and span pieces for an arching stone bridge. Build the pieces to span any river, then build your road of choice on top of the wood crossbeams.
  • Windmill: containing four mills and four large storage containers, meant to be placed near your grain fields for grinding flour.
  • Aqueduct: a fun thematic utility for moving water to your fields. Replace a side block with a small copper water gate to release water on demand!
  • Chicken Coup: warm shelter for 17 chickens and a covered place for them to eat.
  • Farmer's Rest: get your farmers out of the sun or in from the cold by placing this building near your fields and pastures. There is a small shed room for keeping fertilizer on hand and a small workshop for making animal feed attached to the main dining shelter. The concept is to allow your workers a place to get food and drink without needing to run back into your town in the middle of their work day.

    Planned templates:

    - Larger, specialized workshops for each profession.
    - More multi-bed homes (2-4)
    - Barns/Storage buildings - probably nothing fancy, just storage racks in a thematic box.
    - Animal barns

Feel free to provide suggestions for additional buildings or extras!

The windmill does not work.

you forgot to add to required items, nordlingmod, because some buildings need that mod to work, that goes for your other 2 building templetes.
