Description
Original Mod:
https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2818541726&searchtext=radio

The core function of the original mod allows you to keep walkie talkie devices active for VOIP and text communication while not equipped in your hands, they need to be shut off when not in use or else the battery will drain until empty.

I created this variation because the original mod updated to override the radio object's stats and that conflicts with other radio object overriding mods I preferred, As the VOIP/radio text script are separate from radio objects it can be used with any radio changing mods that don't alter the same "ISRadioWindow" script

Original Description:
"
Are you tired of having to choose between chatting with friends on the radio or fighting off the undead? Now you can do both simultaneously!
Allows for the unequipping of a radio without it automatically turning off when placed back on belt or in webbing slots.
Keep in mind that the radio will always have to be manually turned off, even if placed in a bag. Don't waste those batteries now!

THIS MOD IS NOT INTENDED TO KEEP RADIO BROADCASTS PLAYING WHILE YOUR RADIO IS UNEQUIPPED

THIS IS ONLY MEANT TO ENABLE VOIP AND TEXT RADIO CHATS ACTIVE WHILE UNEQUIPPED AS LONG AS IT WAS LEFT ON WHEN PUT AWAY

This mod works by removing the part of the vanilla code that turns off the radio when it’s unequipped.

Your issue is a bit different: even though the radio stays on, the Java side of the game stops both the sound and the radio text from playing.

To solve this, you’ll need to use my other mod UAL – Unequip And Listen, which keeps radios fully functional even when they aren’t equipped.

Hello everyone, can you tell me how this mod works, so I'm fighting with the undead and listening to EAS Emergency, otherwise I need to listen to the weather, pick up a bat and put the walkie-talkie on my belt and there's nothing I can't hear what they're looking for

@sirius
I was thinking that a script that runs when a player loads that makes him invisible, teleports him next to each other players then back to his original position would work.

Thanks and good job!

Are there any mods that make VOIP work without the "local handshake"? You know, in MP voice only works after you meet in the same map cell with another player, which kind of defeats the purpose of radios :D

Anyone know how to fix it? I know Lua, I can make it but I just need to learn what to edit :D

Does this still work in August?

How can I contact you ? I would like to talk about this mod and some tweaks/patches or reusing the code.

Hi @Satuis Aburda, congratulations on the mod! It works really well. Thanks! Is there any chance of creating a fix for the unmute VOIP at long distances? It's a known bug in build 41. Every time a player logs out or logs in far away from another player, they cannot communicate through the radio. Once they get close, within less than 109 tiles, VOIP unmutes, and the radio starts working again. If they log in together within 109 tiles and start to walk away from each other, the radio keeps working just fine. This bug is destroying our RP server. Anyway, thank you for this mod; it has already helped a lot!

this version fixes the override for less radio weight?

Hello ! Thanks a lot for your mod !

I just have one question : is it normal that sometimes we can't hear each other during the game ?
