Description
AE-1 Aellia
Based on Major Jon's Cepheus K-6 Acela - Racer.

See also a blueprint for compatible recharge station.
Features
  • Atmospheric thrusters only
  • Recharge port
  • Cabin door that merges with the hull
  • Custom script
Custom script capabilities
This is my first time making any in-game scripts so it may be wonky in some corner cases.
  • Toggles navigation lights with the maneuvering thrusters
  • Checks the status of each thruster group (enabled/disabled/damaged)
  • Checks the status of batteries and backup batteries
  • Automatically enables recharging when recharge port is attached
  • Calculates distance travelled since last recharge
  • Enables backup batteries if primary batteries are damaged
Grid statistics
  • Weight: 21.5 t
  • Length: 7 m
  • Width: 7 m
  • Height: 1.75 m
  • Blocks: 232
  • PCU: 2055
Printing Tips
The grid can be printed almost in its entirety. However, it contains two subgrids (for the cabin hinges) which must be built and attached separately.

I recommend attaching the hinges in the following sequence:
  1. Detach the cabin hatch
  2. Build a grid consisting of two small grid hinge parts (1x1) facing the opposite direction and having the same rotation
  3. Attach to the right hinge of the hull
  4. Build another grid like in step 2
  5. Attach to the left hinge of the hull
  6. Bring cabin hatch close to the hull
  7. Attach to the right hinge of the cabin hatch
  8. Attach to the left hinge of the cabin hatch
May Clang have mercy on you.

Thanks LeeSpork! And there's no specific reason for that, but I wouldn't want anyone to think this is the original (;

Yeah I realized the explosions problem only after uploading to workshop. You need to turn the torque on the charging port to 0 and disable rotor lock to make it a bit more stable, but even then it sometimes freaks out 😅

Very cool upgrade to Major Jon's racer! A little confused why its designation is completely different though.

Also I'm not sure on the side-mounted charging port... I tested it with your recharge station and found it a bit fiddley and it always resulted in shaking, and sometimes exploding if you connect it wrong.

Have you read the description and my comment under Major Jon's workshop page Errix?
