King County Courthouse
The King County Courthouse in Seattle, designed by architect A. Warren Gould, was completed in 1916. This ten storey building is a typical example of civic building design in early 20th century America. The style is Beaux Arts, which was the conservatively acceptable style for any civic building of the period.

In 1929, Henry Bittman and his associate, J.L. McCauley, began the second phase of construction with the addition of six stories to be completed by 1931.

In 1967, a large remodelling project was undertaken by the architectural firm of Paul Delaney and Associates giving the interior a modernising facelift.

In 1987, the King County Courthouse was registered as a King County landmark. This not only placed importance on the structure as a historical marker, but it also encouraged restoration of the building.

This asset was commissioned by nicocn383 for his fictional city of Strathcona based on a mix of Seattle, WA and Vancouver, B.C. Essentially a rainy and green North American city on the Pacific coast.

A big "thank you" to nicocn383 for providing the excellent screenshots.

Included with this asset is RICO compatibility which allows the building to function as a large office. If you subscribe to the Ploppable Rico Revisited mod this asset will appear in the RICO 'Offices' tab.

I've tried to make this asset as realistic as possible and therefore the geometry tri count is high and the textures large. All of the texture elements have been created specifically for this asset in order for full control over the final look.

@tada - I agree with that statement LOL
@mhicheil - ROFLMAO!

Seeing this here is really making me wish I knew how to fully understand how to make assets for the game. I have been trying for almost a year to wrap my head around Blender so that I might add the Tacoma Union Station (TUS) as a working train station into the game. Right now, TUS is a US Federal Courthouse but it started out as a train station.

The courthouse isn't a law enforcement building in the game and has no impact on crime, which really fits its real life counterpart, lol

Does this come with homeless tents, needles, poop, etc. in front. Would make it more realistic!

I was really surprised to see that Philadelphia City Hall wasn't on the workshop. Maybe you or another asset creator can make it, it'd probably be the most popular asset :steamthumbsup:

Great job! Across the street from courthouse is a 1971 building referred to as King County Administration Building. That building may be interesting to construct!
