Description
L4D1M: Dead Air - Scriptless Edition does not contain any custom infected or gameplay modifiers. However it isn't completely scriptless because some events require scripts to work correctly.

This version only contains a no bosses script for 1: The Greeenhouse, and scripts for the metal detector onslaught and finale. These are all the default scripts used in the original L4D2 Dead Air.

Guide your team of Survivors out of the downtown core of Newburg's business district, through derelict office floors and still-inhabited cubicles, and out onto the runway of Metro International Airport, where the only thing standing between you and the last plane out of the city is a murderous army of the undead.



The fourth campaign of the 'L4D Modified' set. This is the old fashioned Dead Air from Left 4 Dead 1, with the original non-versus map layouts, new upgrade/item/melee spawns, small fixes and miscellaneous changes.

Bear in mind that this is not a replacement for Dead Air featured within the game by default, but is a custom campaign you must select through the 'AddOn campaign...' menu.

Features: 2024 • Big Versus mode update, the campaign now has more accessible areas and properly supports the gamemode • A big expansion to the finale area on '5: Runway Finale' with new holdout areas and item spawns • Added a Gnome Chompski easter egg 2022 • L4D1 Common Infected sounds • L4D1 Horde howl when activating panic events • L4D1 Special Infected sounds, with some unused tracks added • Tank music now randomly chooses between the regular and metal version • Edit to the garage on '3: The Construction Site', now you can access the roof • Added background decoration of the previous and next levels • Added directional lighting to ‘5: Runway Finale’. The L4D1 or L4D2 versions do not have it. (If you wondered why that map looked dark or dull that is the cause) • Original map layouts (buildings and paths) • Nicer looking control tower, now you can see it from every map • Plane crash on the finale is now triggered randomly • The Last Stand update L4D population • Some original L4D1 models • Improved lighting • Enabled wind on all exterior cables such as phone poles (they're originally static) See 'Change Notes' for an even bigger list of changes

Only subscribe to ONE version of L4D1M: Dead Air at a time. All versions use the same files, and will conflict.

I do not recommend playing this campaign on a 'Best Available Dedicated' server as some can be heavily modded and greatly interfere with gameplay.

idk if someones asked this already but, do you plan to make a "scriptless" version of your previous modified maps? (No Mercy, Crash Course, and Death Toll), as well as make Modified Blood Harvest, and even a modified version of The Last Stand and/or The Sacrifice?

I've had a look and added a replacement texture for the displacements. This is fixed now.

well, i dont know how to send screenies on steam; i barely comment, but i can provide a list of the stuff here;

for the missing textures; behind the C130 escape vehicle (looking out from the saferoom, so to the c130s right) there's this heap of wrecked planes. beneath the planes themselves (primarily the back-end of some passenger airliner for this mound), there's a pile of some kind, i can only assume its rubble, but it appears as a missing texture. there's other spots where the missing textures appear, but this is the biggest, and most noticeable.

textures are missing around where the saferoom to the airstrip finale is, i can only assume it's some kind of rubble texture?

i have zero texture addons, all i've got are playermodel addons and fixes for playermodels, then the rest of the l4dm maps.

If you can show me what textures are missing I may be able to help.

As for the bots ignoring items, this is now fixed. Grouped trigger_hurt brushes were marking the starting area as 'DAMAGING' resulting in the bots ignoring items.

I'm getting the missing textures in the finale too, and I don't have more than one thing in my add-ons folder at a time.

Also, at the beginning of map 2 bots don't grab anything from the safe room. In fact, they won't notice or pick up anything until you climb into the hotel/apartment.

@anklu Ah no dude you’re fine, it was just really funny, me and my friend were dying laughing and made a whole inside joke about it, it was really memorable for me actually and special haha. I understand the balancing though of course, it shows a mature design mindset from you, which is awesome
