Peninsula Corridor: San Francisco / Fremont - San Jose - Gilroy - Salinas [Final]

Description
Welcome to the "Peninsula Corridor - San Francisco and Fremont to San Jose, Gilroy and Salinas" route.

NOTE: Requires that you already own the following:

-"Peninsula Corridor: San Francisco to San Jose Route" Add-On.
-"Peninsula Corridor: San Francisco to Gilroy Route" Add-On.

About -

The route is set in the 2022-2023 time period, but does not include the recently completed electrification project. The route is an extension to the San Francisco to Gilroy route and includes the full length of Caltrain’s dynamic San Francisco to Gilroy commuter operation (77 miles), the UPRR Coast/Niles Subdivision tracks from Fremont/Newark to Santa Clara, plus the UPRR Coast Subdivision tracks from Gilroy to Salinas, along with additional sidings and freight yards. The project adds new track that extends the total length of the route to over 120 miles.

Included with the final upload of the route are a variety of scenarios - some taken from the original Gilroy extension pack and others written by myself. All use a combination of default trains that were included with the original Peninsula Corridor route and additional rolling stock from other routes.

They can be found here - https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3340558114

Along this route there are 31 default station stops stretching from San Francisco’s busy 4th and King Street Station to San Jose Diridon and Gilroy. The route also includes Caltrain’s modern Central Equipment Maintenance & operations Facility (CEMOF) at San Jose, with lay-over commuter yards at Gilroy and Tamien.

The route also now includes some extra UP freight yards in Newark to the north of the route, along with Logan Quarry, Watsonville, Moss Landing Power Plant and Salinas on the new extension to the south.

The following Caltrain / Amtrak / ACE stations are now included in this extension:

To the North:
- Great America
- Fremont

To the South:
- Pajaro/Watsonville (completed in the sim but not yet built in the real world).
- Castroville (completed in the sim but not yet built in the real world).
- Salinas.

These bring the updated total to 36 stations along the route.

What is new?

A few additions have been made to the track such as the new turn back siding at the south side of San Jose Diridon and a couple of new main to main crossovers on the core area of route. There are passenger and freight yard changes at various locations and the full length of the line has been upgraded with mostly current signalling and line speeds. Many of the CP's (control points) that are not in the original route have been added and are correctly named. A few new ones now exist due to the track being rebuilt in the real world, plus a few old ones have been removed / relocated in the real world and of course all are now included in the sim.

Special Notes:

-The passing siding at Moss Landing is not controlled in the real world (from what I can see on imaging) - however it is in the sim to aid scenario building.

Cyclone - well there is that, but there's something else route wise coming soon in my workshop that no one knows about.

This big route - are you referring to the Surfliner Modernization Project (which I found under "leebrompton" and ID 2409360812 before the deletion and name change), or something else?

Wanted to give you an award, but atm Steam throws a script error when trying to do so...

I appreciate you making Career scenarios. It avoids scenario failures due to the "diverging ETA clock" bug, which leads to failure in Standard mode. Here I can choose to disable scoring to play in a relaxed manner if I like to. :)

Spikee1975 thanks. Look for another big route coming soon.

No worries. I posted about it on the DTG forum as well. Always nice to have a new American route in the mix, particularly an extension to an existing one. Now we need a LIRR extension. LOL

Any time for when the Capitol Corridor or Caltrain Electrification will be included?
