Heya!

So I've been working on this for a few weeks now. This is the next update for the Imperium mod that is to be released fully for Warhammer 3 Mortal Empires.

I'm releasing the WIP version for continuous feedback as the mod will stay as a work-in-progress.



What's in the pack?

So there are four main unit rosters with up coming RoR variants and a warshrine:



Knight-Legions: Re-worked capped heavy units that now specialize in locking down enemy units with their insane powercreep. They also have an aura that buffs allies via leadership, attack and defense. Can use the Testudo.
  • Knight-Legionarii (Swords) - A sword variant of the Legionarii units that hurl grenades. Gains benefits from Swordsmen Red Line tree.
  • Knight-Legionarii (Spears) - Spear variant of course with explosive javelins. Gains benefits from Spearmen Red Line tree.
  • Knight-Evocatii - The shield and hammer insurance unit. Gains benefits from Greatswords Red Line tree.

Legionnaries: Expanded legion tree that are now the mainstay of the Imperial Legion. All of them use javelins as precursor weapons (Yes, they hurl pointy sticks while charging at the enemy). Can use the Testudo and Square formation.
  • Legio Hastati - The workhorse of the legion and the lowest tier. Gains benefits from Swordsmen Red Line tree.
  • Legio Principes - Higher tier and better equipped legionnaries. Gains benefits from Swordsmen Red Line tree.
  • Legio Triarii - The last line of defense. The heaviest legion unit equipped with spears. Gains benefits from Spearmen Red Line tree.

Excubitors (Roadwardens): These gundpowder units came from the various roadwarden groups that roam the empire. All of them fire while moving forward so you can have an advancing wall of gunpowder. Some can use the Square formation. Now you can have a full gunpowder army!
  • Excubitor Velites - Skirmishers equipped with fast firing carbines. They have a lot of head variants so some will look like colonial infantry now. Gains benefits from Handgunners Red Line tree.
  • Excubitor Executoris - Close range devastating shotgun unit that excels in close quarter combat. Gains benefits from Handgunners and Swordsmen Red Line tree.
  • Excubitor Grenadiers - Elite grenade launcher units that do best behind a testudo. Gains benefits from Handgunners Red Line tree.
  • Excubitor Comitatenses - Low-tier sword and shield unit that throws concussion grenades. Gains benefits from Swordsmen Red Line tree.
  • Excubitor Speculatores - Elite-tier long range rifle and dual sword infantry that cannot fire while moving due to the length of the rifle. Also don't believe in skirmishing. Benefits from both Swordsmen and Handgunner Red Line Tree.

Equites : Cavalry units that round off the Imperial roster. Uses the Wedge and cantabrian circle.
  • Equites Sagittarii - Mounted skirmishing archers that pelter exposed positions with explosive arrows. Gains benefits from Outriders Red Line tree.
  • Equites Auxilia - Fast moving cavalry that can use javelins to harass while charging in. Gains benefits from Empire Knights Red Line tree.
  • Equites Cataphractii - Evocatii mounted on demigryphs. Devastating shock cavalry. Gains benefits from Demigryph Red Line tree.



Features
  • Most of these units can fire while moving thus are able to use the ranged weapons as precursor weapons even if they are in a Testudo formation. Keep in mind that the fire-at-will needs to be toggled on for the unit to fire while in formation.
  • They have unique passives that activate when the unit is in dire situations.
  • Legion units have signifers that carry 1 out of 8 banner variants depending on which campaign the unit has been in as a bit of backstory.
  • These units except the Knight-Legions and the Triarii, can be recruited by the rest of the Empire AI.
  • If you are playing as an Empire faction that doesn't start in Reikland, you can recruit the Knight-Legions and the Triarii by constructing Castle Reiksguard and the Tier 2 Altdorf Wizard College once you acquire Altdorf.

So let me know in the Feedback and Balancing Discussion Page how they are in-game (i.e. Mechanics, Abilities, Cost etc.)

So one of the things you can try out is a marching testudo to soak missile fire while marching grenade launchers rain hell from behind.


So that's it for now. Hope you like the unit/s so far and see you in WH3! Err... also this mod might be available only after the first weeks/month of the WH3 release as the mod tables and all need to be updated. That would depend on when RPFM would be compatible with WH3. Realistically though the release of this mod for WH3 will be later this year so just keep an eye out for it later on!

I know this mod is prob not being updated anymore but would it be possible to get a lower upkeep version? i can barely field 1 army of them for the cost of like 5-6 armies of regular units

playing as gelt and red skill line doesnt help Legio Hastati. Ima try with karl and see if its maybe on my end or something.
