Games 1/3
List of completed games (in order of final achievement date) that are notable enough.

I might space out each game if the list looks like a word salad.

Metro: Last Light Redux
Airscape: The Fall of Gravity - I'm not sure why I liked this game so much, but I still do to an extent
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Dino Run DX - Played originally on a browser and it has held up quite well. Worth a quick play or three
Terraria - Ignoring the weird Cthulhu obsession, Terraria is the gold standard for sandboxes. The mechanics are well executed, the room for creativity is sublime and the modding scene is thriving
Borderlands - Spoilers: Lilith lives so Borderlands 2 can exist
Metro 2033 Redux
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Shooting every enemy in the head with a suppressed armour-piercing laser-sighted pistol is both hilarious and hilariously overpowered, just like its counterpart in the original
Alien: Isolation - Enjoyed this game more with motion blur enabled. It's an overlooked setting that can enhance the experience in certain single-player games (like this one)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Well deserved praise and consumer-friendly decisions make this game one of best of the 2010s
Enter the Gungeon - Lots of weapons and fun combinations make this game a blast for every playthrough (unless I get the cursed baseball bat)
The Binding of Isaac - A great early roguelite with procedurally generated dungeons and a sad story
Spec Ops: The Line - Neat little subversion of the heroism cliché in military shooters
Borderlands 2 - Spoilers: Lilith lives again so Borderlands 3 can exist
Spyro Reignited Trilogy - Excellently captures its original direction and presents it to a new audience, reinvigorating the series for a new start
Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy - A great example of a reboot of a beloved franchise. It's proof that remakes work and that people don't forget good games.
Call of Duty: WWII - Essentially the fast food of the video game industry - popular but has a lack of substance. I’m never going to play CoD14’s multiplayer
Metro 2033 - The knife is much more intuitive to use in this game than in its later instalments
LIMBO - A highly atmospheric puzzle platformer and engaging with its puzzle design. Stands out with its visuals
Gunpoint - Don't use the gun it doesn't get its ammo back and police snipers exist
Psychonauts - A cult classic that aged really well with its unique worlds and strange plot
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - Spoilers: Jack also lives so Borderlands 2 can exist
Stardew Valley - Its atmosphere and scenes are incredible. It’s a very soothing game if only I didn't plan each day with maximising efficiency in mind. Also I picked Abigail only because her hair's purple like my farmer
Starbound - This game is to Terraria with its mechanics as a student is to a veteran; students have more choices in life but veterans have more experience in their respective field. Basically, Starbound has more mechanics but Terraria executes the mechanics it does have a lot better. Also, why is there a forced story in a sandbox?
The Stanley Parable - The dialogue is humorous but Stanley can't jump
Hollow Knight - This game represents what's right with the video game industry - the lore, mechanics, combat, music, sound, atmosphere, scale, writing, characters, art direction, intuitive learning, consistency, etc are executed with such strength that it's surprising that only a few developers are involved with its creation. The developers are also incredibly consumer-friendly and so this game is a gigantic hidden gem
Machinarium - Good point and click adventure with a fun design and creative puzzles
Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition - A fantastic metroidvania with consistently fun puzzles and platforming and is a visual and audio treat from start to finish
Ori and the Blind Forest
Titanfall 2 - Excellent movement and combat combined with being well-optimised makes this a favourite among many. Unfortunately this doesn't include me since I'm personally not fond of booster packs and zero downside advanced movement
The Silent Age - A fun point and click adventure with an interesting setting that's intriguing from start to finish - although some parts can be narrative heavy. Be sure to interact with everything using every single item for free entertainment
A Hat in Time - Great overall, but not as good as the general consensus suggests. Presentation overall is excellent with great characters, voice acting, visual style, setting and the entire soundtrack is superb. However, the gameplay has numerous flaws of different magnitudes that prevent this game from becoming greater. The camera is the most obvious annoyance with it constantly focusing on unwanted angles even with camera assist disabled which cause many screw ups usually related with navigation. Accidental wall jumps are relatively common with small obstacles and off-angled walls causing unintentional jumps away from the intended path (the camera does not help in this regard). Movement is sluggish when making sharp turns, forcing right-angled turns to avoid obstacle spam during boss battles. Many Death Wishes appear rushed and are poorly balanced especially with special bosses that suffer from fake difficulty due to its incredibly spammy nature and lack of health pickups. These harder modes do not bode well with the overall movement design (mostly responsive but with some slowness built in for pacing purposes) and the outcome can become fairly luck-based. But despite these problems, A Hat in Time is still worth your time and money (and patience perhaps). I'd put my full thoughts on the level design, abilities and story but that would take another paragraph just to cover (basically the levels are too linear, most abilities don't take advantage of the openness of the 3D platformer genre and the story is too segmented and fairly corny)
Hamilton's Great Adventure - Harmless puzzle game but has extremely linear map design
Day of the Tentacle Remastered - A point and click adventure with amusing dialogue and cutscenes. How the items were used to progress through the story was quite creative
Oxenfree - Walking simulator with good dialogue and character interaction but that's about it
Layers of Fear - Horror game with lots of pretty paintings and good atmosphere
Poker Night 2 - The interactions between the four opponents make this game quite enjoyable for what are merely two card games with achievements and fancy paint jobs
Portal - A classic and innovative first-person puzzle platformer that is short but very sweet
Risk of Rain - It’s a great roguelike with a wide variety of different playstyles that should satisfy most players
Baba Is You - This logic puzzler is incredibly innovative in its design with many levels leading to ‘Eureka!’ moments. The art is simple yet stylistic and the soundtrack is full of fun melodies. Try to think outside the box and be rewarded. Game Is Best And Not Bad
Pony Island - Contains great meta jokes. Don’t forget to lower the volume on every start up
Forager - It’s a ‘survival’ game about breaking things and collecting resources to make more resources. Unfortunately its novelty runs dry fairly quickly and what’s left are shallow combat and factory production mechanics. The art and soundtrack don’t help in this matter either
Divide By Sheep - Good mathematical puzzle game with a nice clean art style. Could really use an undo button
The Count Lucanor - Very atmospheric horror game containing multitudes of fun puzzles and amusing interactions. Rewards exploration and good observation skills
Hue - A simple yet elegant puzzle platformer with a wide variety of colours to choose from
The Gardens Between - It’s a one-off experience with its overall slowness and linear puzzles but its visuals, audio and soundtrack should be enough for most to have an enjoyable experience
Games 2/3
DISTRAINT - Has some amusing responses to questionable interactions with the environment to make it more fun than just a well-made horror game
DISTRAINT 2 - Similar to its previous entry but lacks the volume of possible responses that made randomly interacting with every single object that much more enticing
Subsurface Circular - An excellent game where 99% of the content is dialogues and 1% is fiddling around with the cursor. Exhausting every single dialogue option was well worth it. If your face was a colour, it would be an ugly colour that nobody likes
RiME - Beautiful game and all, but there’s little gameplay to offer and the player character moves way too slow
SOMA - This game’s got a rich story and atmosphere. Those alone should be enough for this game to be worth playing among other things such as the sound effects and physics
Evoland Legendary Edition - Two games: one is good, the other is bad. 1 - Good concept, but poor execution in many ways. 2 - I really wanted to like this one more than I had hoped for but it has numerous gameplay problems that keep it from being something incredible. Great overall art and audio, but there’s far too much backtracking and the writing and dialogue are horrendous
Evoland 2
Samorost 3 - Good visuals and puzzles. There’s a bunch of fun rhythms too
Yooka-Laylee - This game should’ve been incredible but all the character in the world won’t fix the horrible camera, controls and boss design
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair - Considerably better overall to its predecessor. There’s less dialogue which is unfortunate but the soundtrack, levels and movement were loads of fun to experience and play
BioShock Infinite - Good game with lots of scrapped potential. Cutscenes were unskippable so whenever I had to rewatch one I took a short break and drank some water
Torchlight 2 - Good RPG with excellent mod support and a forgettable story
TOHU - Great visuals, good music and I guess the puzzles are okay
Little Nightmares - Puzzle platformer with excellent atmosphere and set pieces. Too bad the DLCs are mediocre at best
Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Stunningly incredible visuals, great audio and soundtrack, and pretty good gameplay. But despite this I still prefer Ori and the Blind Forest
INSIDE - Impressive environments and good puzzles. That’s about it but perhaps it’s more than enough
Fran Bow - Certainly one of the more creative point and click adventures I’ve played. Ignoring the lack of polish, the story was certainly enjoyable and the puzzles were good as well
GRIS - Artistically well thought-out especially with the use of colours, but there’s not much on offer in terms of gameplay
Yoku’s Island Express - Pinball mixed with platforming in an open-world format. It’s genius and it works
The Henry Stickmin Collection - Jokes are hit-or-miss, but the references aren’t
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - Campaign's great and being able to use custom loadouts is loads of fun
Reventure - Impressive level design that allows multiple ways of experiencing a single ending amongst multiple endings. The writing occasionally surprises me (in a good way) and the music is decent. Visuals are meh but don’t matter all that much considering how much fun it was to figure out all the different endings.
Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling - Fun, occasionally challenging and always rewarding. Really enjoyed the wide variety of instruments used in the soundtrack. This game fails to disappoint in an overall sense, though there was a lot of backtracking. Leif is the coolest bug of all
Pumpkin Jack - Relatively straightforward platformer with overall good and consistent design. Combat is a bit weak and gameplay is linear but overall atmosphere is well-done. Not much else to say other than that this game won’t take too much of your time
Chicken Police - Great voice acting and writing. Worth talking to everyone and everything
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger - Highly intense arcade shooter with good pacing and action, though the gameplay lacks in variety
TOEM - Adventure game centred around photography that’s made with love and plays just as well
Spiritfarer - Constant backtracking and tedious gameplay is saved by good characters and interactions. Stella doesn’t count as her hat has more personality than she does
Omno - Starts weak but becomes surprisingly competent later on. Surfing and the flying green squirrel creature are the best parts of the game. Which is better is debatable
Tiny Lands - Spot the difference game with an extra dimension added to the usual puzzles of the same type with the result being a net positive
Stories Untold - Text adventure with a little more to offer than just typing. Worth its weight in kilobytes
Sundered - A combination of a bad camera and an overwhelming number of enemies all attacking at random leads to unfavourable gameplay, which happens a lot with this game. The art, animation and basic gameplay loop were fairly good and counteract the fairly bad
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Great story with rich stories and lots of interesting characters. Too bad the combat is clunky but the rest of the game is better
Hexologic - Simple but effective puzzle game where the solving process is nearly identical to Sudoku
Stealth Inc 2 - Movement is surprisingly precise considering the 3D rendition of the characters which allows for snappy movement that goes well with the puzzles in the test chambers as well as the open world
The Looker - A puzzle game that just so happens to be everyone’s cup of tea
Figment - Creative levels, creative songs, creative characters, creative etc. The game’s all about creativity and despite that, the puzzles and progression were pretty linear and had little room for creativity. Overall effort is strong here so it gets bonus points made from creativity
Submerged: Hidden Depths - Sluggish movement does not help with all the exploration. Nevertheless the boat mechanics save the entire game from being monotonous as exploration is all there is to do. Game is well-polished overall, sound design is pretty good and visuals are pretty pretty
Grim Fandango Remastered - Excellent story and world are marred by the arbitrarily obscure puzzles and solutions. Nevertheless the game is good and the writing certainly helps. Glottis is the best mechanic
Shady Part of Me - Very creative concept with decent execution. Puzzles can be finicky at times and movement can be confusing due to the camera angle but the game quite well-rounded overall
Trine - Overall very competent with fun characters, decent platforming and so-so combat. The story was fairly interesting and the levels were fun to navigate
Song of the Deep - Metroidvania with an underwater twist. Good visuals, bad enemy animations. Good movement, bad combat. Good story, bad boss fights. Fortunately the good outweighs the bad
Monument Valley - Visually stunning geometric puzzles and impossible landscapes make this game quite the treat to experience
Monument Valley 2 - I’m impressed that despite the increased complexity of the puzzles, the gameplay manages to not be confusing or disorienting. This game is a welcome expansion of the original with new ways to describe the world and more fun geometry to ponder at
Subnautica - Strong atmosphere and aquatic movement. It’s clear that care was placed when making the world as fun to explore as possible. Not perfect but doesn’t need to be considering how good this game is overall. Also comes with great music and an interesting lore
Puzzle Agent 2 - Comes with great puzzles and an art style that is very visually appealing. Not all of the puzzles were great but overall the game is a fun experience
Post Void - Highly stylistic shooter with fast-paced action that doesn’t lose momentum and has just the right amount of content
Nuclear Throne - Fantastic roguelike that is hard to recommend due to its difficulty. Excellent combat, characters and overall design
Games 3/3
Slay the Spire - Good roguelike deckbuilder. Since this is a card game expect some trouble stemming from luck
Metro: Last Light
Costume Quest - Wonderfully whimsical and innocent. Not perfect but doesn’t have to be
Snake Pass - Playing this game has made me appreciate the terrible method of locomotion that snakes have. This game gets a pass
Primordia - Crispy is one of the best b’sodding sidekicks in any point and click adventure out there. The jokes don’t miss
Epistory - Typing Chronicles - Solid typing game that - while the story is weak - is made up for with multiple viable methods of approaching combat, great visual design and generally good pacing
Sam & Max Save the World (2020) - There’s enough wit here to the point where most of the jokes land, which is a huge accomplishment considering how one-dimensional the titular characters can be. Solid overall but minus a few points for cutting and changing some of the original jokes
Destroy All Humans! (2020) - Good premise and good execution, though there are some optimation issues and annoyances with the movement. Also not a fan of how ridiculously cartoony the humans look and the neutering of some of the jokes from the original game
Control - Great presentation and worldbuilding. Thoroughly enjoyed what the side missions had to offer and the controls are fairly good but the story is confusing and the combat lacks in variety
Metro Exodus - A mixed bag compared the the other entries in the Metro series, but still has enough improvements to be an overall fun experience
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Very strong open world RPG. Mind the bugs
Creaks - Good puzzle platformer with great visual and audio design
Papers, Please - Creative premise with solid execution
Unavowed - Great point and click adventure with some genuinely interesting characters and an excellent atmosphere
A Short Hike - Good little exploration game. While the gameplay variety is lacking the overall experience is very soothing
The Dweller - Satisfactory puzzle game that is fairly fun throughout all of its levels
CHUCHEL - Funky
Pilgrims - Nice little point and click. Harmless fun
Botanicula - Generally good design. Not amazing but has many interesting interactions
Samorost 2 - Good improvement over the first instalment
Sanctum 2 - Great tower defence with interesting mechanics and solid gameplay despite the lack of optimisation
Alan Wake - Thriller game that’s surprisingly interesting with decent overall game design and mechanics despite some rough edges
Outlast - Horror game with great atmosphere and movement. That one enemy is fairly annoying though
Webbed - Despite lacking in puzzle variety, this game still ends up being fun throughout its story by having great movement mechanics and a good enough camera
Smushi Come Home - This is one of the few ‘cute cozy wholesome’ games that respect your time and effort by providing good atmosphere and movement
Venba - This game makes me hungry
World of Goo - Good physics and puzzles. Solid game overall despite the mediocre controls and strict challenge criteria
GoNNER - One of the better roguelikes I’ve played. This game is welcomingly simplistic and has well-executed mechanics and overall design with a balanced difficulty that doesn’t get boring or stale
A Story About My Uncle - Great movement and visuals with a good enough story. User experience could do with some improvements
Hell Pie - Solid movement mechanics combined with camera issues regarding depth perception has lead to some inconstent but fun gameplay. Still a recommend thanks to its good execution in other areas
Braid - This game has many problems, but I still recommend it thanks to its creativity and innovations
Mass Effect Legendary Edition - Ignoring Mass Effect 3’s elephant in the room, this series is pretty great and should be experienced by everyone
Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed - Same pros and cons as the first instalment, but now with more fourth wall breaks
Scorn - This game confused me the entire time but I still liked it
The Talos Principle - Excellent 3D puzzle game with sprinkles of existential-crisis-inducing philosophy
Patrick’s Parabox - This game is very creative but it gets increasingly confusing and unintuitive to solve the puzzles as the game progresses. Despite this, the game’s still worth your time thanks to its interesting core mechanic
The Pedestrian - Good little puzzle game with a creative use of dimensions
Manifold Garden - Felt like I was in a Mandelbrot set. Puzzles were okay but falling had never felt so good
Tinykin - I had no idea what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by what was here. Great level design and overall pacing
In Sound Mind - Excellent psychological horror game with great gameplay and interesting patients
A Plague Tale: Innocence - This game is decent in terms of story and gameplay, but the rats and their movement are easily my favourite part about this game
11-11 Memories Retold - Good story and voice acting. Art style is interesting to say the least and has good and bad parts. This game - despite not having much gameplay to offer - managed to keep me interested for a lot longer than I expected
Amnesia: The Dark Descent - Good atmosphere and story with horror that works
Wuppo - Good metroidvania with original ideas, though the enjoyment of this game is brought down a bit with the confusing story progression objectives
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition - Excellent fast-paced combat and good visual style

Many other games have been played through. However, those games have either not been 100% achieved or don't have any achievements.
Soundtracks
Soundtracks that I went out of my way to buy.

Buying the soundtrack is essentially a way of giving the developer(s) more money. This list does not include soundtracks that were automatically included or bundled with the game.

Hollow Knight - The first OST I wanted to buy that wasn't automatically included/bundled. It's incredible what a single person can do with enough passion and effort, which resulted in this magnificent soundtrack being composed. The extra OST was also purchased for this reason
Ori and the Blind Forest - The entire OST is a dream to listen to. Very soothing compared to the numerous dangers the world presents. Tracks 8 and 18 stand out for me
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair - So much fun to listen to, especially when I’m busy or bored
Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Play this to improve the entirety of a day of work or study. This soundtrack is a pleasure to listen to from start to end
Terraria - Golden game and soundtrack. Atmospheric, really
TOEM - Consistently good soundtrack with soothing instruments and tunes to help make a day of studying or working more relaxed
Primordia - Great atmospheric tunes that can be played in the background with no issues
Creaks - I like not just the composition, but also the mastering of this soundtrack. It’s difficult to not listen on repeat
Machinarium - I thought to take a look at this game’s soundtrack after to listening to Creaks’. Turns out I’ve been missing out because this OST stands out a lot and deserves more listenings
Samorost 3 - Repeating the pattern after Machinarium, this soundtrack deserves the same praise as the other offerings from Amanita Design
Secondary 1/2
Completed games not worthy of being on the primary list.

These are the 'who cares' games.

Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior - You get to clean up bits and pick up money. That's about it
Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta - Episode 1 - Dumpster fire 'series' that was dead before it even got earthed and unearthed
Bad Rats - Terrible physics puzzle game where a 2D puzzle uses 3D physics
Bit Blaster XL - Fun arcade game that's worth anyone's time and curiosity
The Room - Great puzzle game series with creative challenges and safes to crack open
The Room Two
The Room Three
hack_me - Mediocre game about typing things or something
hack_me 2
The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game - Short but amusing game about a frog solving a case. What could go wrong?
Orbt XL - Simple but fun and challenging arcade game
Iron Snout - Mildly addicting 2D fighter that doesn't hurt for anyone to try out since it doesn't cost anything
FRAMED Collection - Well styled interactive adventure with one very interesting mechanic
Paradigm - Amusing point and click where the game will only get funkier as it progresses
Fortix - Strategy game with the basic premise of territorial control. It's decent, if not a little slow at times
Bad Rats Show - Improved upon the dumpster fire that was its earlier entry but is still kinda meh
Agent A - Point and click with spies and puzzles. Who wouldn't want a game about those?
Celeste - Movement is polished, but incredibly artificial. Not a fan of the arbitrary style of movement and level design
The Swapper - Good puzzler, but don't expect to be blown away
Paperbark - Walking simulator that requires patience to enjoy (or less than 18 minutes)
LYNE - Connect the dots multiple times without overlapping lines of path and it'll be a smooth victory. Either that or it'll be a long day
Defy Gravity - Interesting premise about launching gravity orbs but is technically inept
Arcade Moonlander - Surprisingly fun game about flying a rocket to safety
Freebie - It's like Pong but with none of the flair
Nephise Begins - More like a tech demo with incomplete, popping textures than an actual game
One Eyed Kutkh - Trivial point and click adventure with a decently abstract story
Escape From Tethys - It's a decent metroidvania. It's fine but flawed in some way with every single mechanic and design in the game
The First Tree - Walking simulator with a story. Other than the story the game's quite amateurish in nature
TIMEframe - Sightseeing experience with a lot of walking. It's okay for how quick the game is
Droid Assault - Fairly intense arcade shooter with the fun mechanic of managing a team of killer robots to destroy other killer robots along with a clean and charming aesthetic. Map design is a letdown and causes unnecessary difficulty spikes
Evergarden - Decent strategy game that, while it is a learning process, ends up being shallow in its gameplay. The random rabbit destroying important flowers doesn't help its case either
Scrap Garden - Adorably ambitious, but has many technical and gameplay faults that hammer its quality down. Despite all the problems, it's still fun to experience all the set pieces this game has to offer
Rusty Lake Hotel - Great series with loads of fun puzzles. Story's something worth paying attention to
Rusty Lake: Roots
Rusty Lake Paradise
RUSH - Boring puzzle game
Morphopolis - Decent hidden object game. Good and well-suited art style but has sluggish movement and lacks tutorials that are sorely needed for some puzzles
Vive le Roi - Subpar puzzle game with poorly designed time-based gameplay
Pinstripe - Disappointingly shallow gameplay and amateurish writing akin to that of a high school writing essay. The slingshot is at least somewhat fun to use
The Search - Wow, what a profoundly profound piece of art. It's art so incredibly deep and inspiring that no one in the entire world should ever play video games anymore. In fact, stop it right now, you
Small Radios Big Televisions - Offers a lot of chromatic aberration and not much else
Waking Mars - Sci-fi gardening game with a sprawling cave system and surprisingly good voice acting. Some areas could use a reduction in required biomass but otherwise the gameplay variety is done well
Regions Of Ruin - Good gameplay loop but combat is uninteresting
The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day - Good attempt at a point and click adventure, but it has loads of design problems including the controls, movement, camera, dialogue, story, pointing and clicking, and action sequences
Faerie Solitaire - Simple but fun take on Solitaire
Kathy Rain - Good voice acting
Revenge of the Titans - Decently fun mix of tower defence and real time strategy with frustrating mechanics counteracting some of its fun
Greak: Memories of Azur - Really liked the teamwork concept and cinematics, but many aspects of the game were poor in execution
8Doors: Arum's Afterlife Adventure - Liked the idea with the art style and Korean folklore, but the gameplay is lacking in pretty much every aspect
Stealth B@stard Deluxe - Stealth platformer with interesting puzzle levels and fairly precise movement. Quite fun overall but the levels can be annoyingly tricky at times
Kathy Rain: Director's Cut - Same as the original version but with more content. The more, the merrier
Finding Paradise - Slow start but gets better. Also includes sad, sappy music
Wandersong - Poor grammar, game tends to drag out, music quality is inconsistent and colours can be too bright and vibrant to the point where your retinas will melt. There are some good parts but this game is an incongruent mess
There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension - Starts well with the clever puzzles and fun jokes but loses its novelty as the end of the game gets nearer, then the gameplay cuts off abrubtly to the (real) credits. Maybe it's better that way considering the lack of funding of this game and all, but overall it's still a good effort
Later Alligator - Good animation but that's about it. This game is more of an animation reel because if it's anything less it'd be mediocre. Where did the voice acting go?
Call of the Sea - Has good 2D art with not-so-good 3D environments, okay puzzles with less than okay padding and bad programming with even badder movement
The Witness - Great puzzle game with good-looking environments, but is not everyone's cup of tea
Slime Rancher - 'Farming' game that works well for casual play. Slime interactions are fun but the game is relatively barebones. Stamina mechanic is awful
Burly Men at Sea - Simple game with simple art that's simply slow and simply boring
Bulb Boy - Has an interesting art style and was relatively fun, but the ride ends early
Vane - Walking simulator with a horrendous camera that's saved by literally nothing. Well maybe the environments, but the awfully slow movement causes that effort to be in vain
Millie - Marketed as a casual puzzle game but if the difficulty isn't set to the lowest setting then the game becomes a nightmare to finish
Feather - Cool game about flying and occasionally turning into other bird species
Nanotale - Typing Chronicles - Very different from the usual non-typing focused games with a narrative that exists and an ending that ends the story. Very lukewarm with the occasional unwelcome bug
Rituals - A point and click game in first-person. That's about it
Her Story - Interesting idea and format with all the video clips, but I wanted the game to finish by the halfway mark
Potatoman Seeks the Troof - Some basic platformer about walking to the right and jumping or something
Monster Loves You! - Excellent game for clicking and listening to the same few tracks over and over again
Haiku, the Robot - Started well and ended mediocrely. Many aspects are uninspiring and remind me of several other (and better) metroidvanias
My Friend Peppa Pig - A game designed specifically for children. Highly recommend!
Secondary 2/2
Summer in Mara - Do you like running? Do you like padding? Are you a dog? Well this game is perfect for you as fetch quests are 90% of the content
Shardlight - A game with a story and some gameplay. There was a lot of clicking involved and there was a narrative
The Almost Gone - Sad sappy story full of endearing depression and asinine gameplay
A Juggler's Tale - A game with an interesting premise with unique puzzles that stem from it, but otherwise falls flat from the lack of content
The Last Campfire - The camera is horrendous and the narration is annoying, which isn't helped by the nondescript writing. The puzzles are okay, but that doesn't save this game from being quite the disappointment
It's Spring Again - An educational game for kids. While I didn't learn anything new, the art was pretty good
Luna's Fishing Garden - My eyes were assaulted by the colour palette but at least there was a giant fish
Haimrik - Unpolished and clunky to play. Gameplay was creative though
DARQ - A puzzle game with a creative aspect. Good atmosphere and that's about it
Backbone - Started out great then lost most of its appeal as the game progressed. Excellent atmosphere and good animations. The story is the one that changed (which is the biggest part of a narrative driven adventure)
The Little Acre - Everything seemed intriguing at the beginning and it remained fairly good until I realised the game is over. The dead giveaway was how the later parts seemed to rush through the story
Goetia - Good writing but the puzzles are asinine
AI: Rampage - This game hates you (and also hates me)
Grow: Song of the Evertree - Very weak, regressive and shallow writing. Combined with slow and copious amounts of actions mean this game is a complete snoozefest
Quantum Break - Everything about this game was confusing. Why are there so many plotholes? What is up with the awkward shooting mechanics? How is the game not properly programmed to show decals on moving surfaces?
Magrunner: Dark Pulse - Average video game with a fun puzzle mechanic crammed into a nonsensical story and sluggish movement
Dungeon Souls - Decent game, terrible name. Fun gameplay loop combined with a repetitive soundtrack makes for a strangely trancing experience
Void B@stards - Solid game but hard to recommend due to the huge amount of randomness sucking the fun out of most of the exploration
VVVVVV - Mostly good but with some glaring design problems. Some puzzles require precise movement despite the player movement being imprecise, causing some spots to be artificially difficult to get past. Music's great though
Monster Sanctuary - Decent music and a surprisingly complex battle system but comes with all the flaws of safe and generic game design including storytelling, visuals and square levels. Also comes with free difficulty spikes and numerous mundane puzzles
Human Resource Machine - Has some design flaws regarding the user interface that makes programming less intuitive than it can be
Stacking - Has an original concept, but unfortunately that's not enough
Simple Story - Alex - Baby's first video game
Keyboard Killers - Mediocre game about typing that inspires no one to create more typing games
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series - Seasons 1 and 2 were good, then something happened afterwards
Raji: An Ancient Epic - Great setting ruined by mediocre gameplay and frustrating combat
Project Mercury - It's fine but there's not much to offer that will put this game above novelty status
Quern - Undying Thoughts - Decent puzzle game with great visuals but the excessive amount of backtracking and unintuitive puzzles ruin the experience
People Playground - A perfectly harmless game that runs out of novelties real quick
Poker Night at the Inventory - Cool characters and fun dialogue but there is little to offer in terms of gameplay
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice - The confusing story isn't helped by the mediocre combat. At least the graphics are good
Sable - What a displeasure to play. Awful gameplay, writing and optimisation all combine to create this monstrosity of an open world exploration game
El Hijo - Good art, bad everything else
Strangeland - Not a bad game. While the visual style is very interesting there's not much that elevates this one above other point and click games
Crown Trick - Lukewarm roguelite with a bland story and equally bland writing. Sometimes the gameplay works really well and other times the pacing is poor. It's all over the place
Eternal Threads - This game manages to waste an interesting science fiction premise on a soap opera setting. A complete snoozefest
Dear Esther: Landmark Edition - Great visuals and polish, but there's not much else to offer other than the atmosphere being good
Serial Cleaner - Average stealth game. Some levels were painful to go through
Aegis Defenders - This game doesn't have a single well-executed mechanic. This is a rarity and should be placed in a museum
Fly O'Clock - Uninteresting arcade game
Infested Planet - Fun at first but gets really tedious later on
The Spirit and the Mouse - Good concept failed by the severe lack of variety in actual things to do. Camera doesn't help either
Bendy and the Ink Machine - Good atmosphere, but the horror aspect is lacking due to low difficulty, the voice acting leaves a lot to be desired and there are horrible gameplay bugs that cause significant progress loss
Bendy and the Dark Revival - This games does not make any meaningful improvements over its predecessor. In fact, it's a little worse overall with the biggest removal being the horror aspect
Borderlands Enhanced
Alan Wake's American Nightmare - Trades all the strong points of the original game and in return the game behaves more like an arcade shooter
Hoa - Game looks good and all, but it's boring
Unpacking - Good item placement mechanics. Still a boring game though
Garden Story - An unexpected but completely expected cute and wholesome game with painfully dull gameplay to complement the cute wholesomeness
Yet Another Zombie Defense - Decent gameplay loop at the start, but quickly becomes tedious after 10 minutes
Lacuna - While there are some good points, most of the worldbuilding elements run hollow and the story isn't paced particularly well
Orange Moon - Really tedious to play but still has some interesting elements
Alba: A Wildlife Adventure - Where did the gameplay go?
Spirits - This is a puzzle game
Hello Neighbor - This game is horrific in the sense that it should never have seen the light of day
Taiji - Has some of the most unclear and unhelpful puzzle hints I've ever witnessed in a puzzle game
Wytchwood - Fetch ingredients to complete fetch quests that on completion, start more fetch quests
Road 96 - This game - while it had its fun moments - turned out to be fairly vapid in its story and gameplay mechanics
The Wild at Heart - Fun at first but the novelty wears off after about two hours in. The day and night cycle really gets in the way of gameplay by killing its pacing and for some reason the game wants me to solve puzzles using micromanagement
Minute of Islands - Good storytelling but there's a severe lack of gameplay
Wobbledogs - This game has a surprisingly low amount of content, which isn't helped by the repetitive music
Wizard of Legend - Not much depth for a game with a surprisingly number of magical attacks
Showdown Bandit - This game is not scary
Archvale - This game has no original parts and is entirely aftermarket
Tattletail - Good concept with poor execution
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs - Decent story but there's little to do while progressing through it
Amnesia: Rebirth - This game has an obscene number of detours and the story is convoluted and uninteresting
Visage - Good visuals but the gameplay is aggravatingly slow-paced
