Chat Bubble v0.6 (Build 41mp)

Description
With this mod installed, a small chat bubble will be displayed above your head when you start typing in MP.
The bubble will not show up if you are under the 'Admin' tab.

New game is not required for this mod, it should be safe to add/remove the mod to/from any game. Nothing is tied to new game creation.

Known issues
- Minor:
  • Toggling timestamp/tag/font size shows all old image messages that were previously sent until another message is sent
    • I would have to overwrite a vanilla function in ISChat.lua to properly, and efficiently fix this. To keep my mod compatible with as many future versions/mods as possible, I will not be doing this. I will continue looking into ways to fix it, but it is cleared up when a new message is sent. People also rarely change these settings, so this will most likely not change as a fix would affect performance.
  • Image messages are visible in server console/logs
    • This is easy enough to filter out with basic notepad++ features.

Technical information
  • The mod works by using a function that makes the player speak that sends the image.
  • If the chat text box does not contain at least 1 character, the bubble will not be shown.
  • The chat bubble will be visible from the same range as any '/say' message.
  • These messages are displayed in chat by default, so when a message is sent, an event is triggered that deletes the chat bubble messages from the chat window.
  • If the mod is launched in single player, the main function is automatically removed and nothing will happen.

Please do not upload edited versions of my files publicly without permission.

Our server seems to be getting a handcuff symbol instead of chat bubble symbol, though sometimes we get a chat bubble.

Someone has been having an issue where their chat bubbles would keep stacking on their characters until the server kicks them out of the game due to overload. How can this be fixed?

I have been using it for a long time. It allows me to instantly help someone who is trying to chat if they are about to be attacked by a zombie. It would be appreciated if "zzzz" could be displayed above the head of a sleeping person.

Hey @nater I was trying to check out the mod and the chat bubble you made was compressed into a .pack file If you dont mind how would i inspect the contents of that?

I really want to look into making my own mod that creates a sleeping icon with Zzz's appearing over a players head.

just curious how you managed to get this working!

Love this but it has one really bad issue - when you have a radio on for voice chat and send them it spams through the text feature of the radios and *does not remove these messages*. Anything you can do about that?
