In the early days of the Napoleonic War, the village of Les Moeres found itself in the center of the battlefield as the British pushed into the fields of northern France. Lying beneath the sea level, the town's pumps that drained the area of water were destroyed in the battle, and the water began to rise around the village. A year later, the town finds itself the site of another battlefield, with the water providing a unique obstacle.
