Stay awhile and listen!
Introducing ten re-imagined and new units from my first mod Eisenfaust Legion!



Unit List
I've decided to pick up modding again after a year or so. In this mostly aesthetic-focused unit mod you will find the following:
  • Knight-Praetorians - The biggest two-hander bois on the block
  • Knight-Centurions - The resident heavy shield unit
  • Knight-Legionarii - Pride and joy for this mod, see below!
  • Legio Evocatus - Heavy Mounted Repeaters that can be used as shock cavalry
  • Legio Venatores - Mounted explosive archers that can also be used as light cavalry
  • Legio Miles - Core rifle infantry with working bayonets!
  • Legio Hastatus - Shield and shotgun hybrid unit
  • Legio Socii Hastati - T1 Legionnaires for that early game recruitment with their own Aquilifer
  • Legio Velites - Two-handed heavy ambush infantry that also throws axes
  • Reikland Repeaters - A special Miles variant that has a unit cap, along with ambush capabilities wielding an experimental repeater and two-handed hammers. Recruited from Castle Reiksguard.
They are of course still inspired heavily by the thoughts behind Eisenfaust but I've done away with most of the balancing issues from the former.

They are also able to use Unit Formations by Crynsos which is a masterfully done mod! However if you are getting issues with this version, a link to a non-formation version is here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ag62vxvC-43CoTsAiiTa62ME6Qkd
Just download the file there and replace it in your steam apps > workshop > content > User number > custom number folder.


Reskin WIP
I'm adding a test reskin with Karl Franz in Imperator Armor. Eventually it would have its own mod as part of Imperium Reskin. Just wanted to see how you folks would like it


What are they supposed to do?
The Legio roster currently aims to provide a different take on empire units with a bit of higher or different stats. They have higher morale due to Legion conditioning.

The Knight units are there to keep Chaos and other powerful races in check. There is no honor in retreat, so these units will never break.

Of course the whole army is in preparation for the upcoming races/modes in WH3 with the intent to meet them with gunpowder, steel and Empire might.

So cry havoc and lead them, as they are your dogs of war set loose!


Notes
Some of the custom animations may be janky, but that's due to the vanilla animations used. I'm no expert in creating animations, so I made do with what was available in-game.

My proudest achievement so far! A ranged/melee Legionnaire unit!



I'll be focusing on this mod as I wanted a new start. Some of the units in Eisenfaust have crossed over unchanged while the rest have either been tweaked or changed entirely. I'll be updating the mod from time to time as there are ideas I'm working on but still need to flesh out.

Patch updates can be found in notes, mostly to do with stats. mesh updates and costs in campaign.

Q&A
  • Q: Can I use the assets here in my own published mod?
  • A: Just mention in your mod description that this mod is where you got it from. I worked hard on this so that would really be appreciated.

  • Q: What about Baltazhar Gelt?
  • A: I'm going to create a roster just for his faction in the future.

  • Q: Are these units restricted to Reikland?
  • A: Hastatus, Socii Hastati and Miles units are not.

  • Q: Can they be in garrisons?
  • A: That feature is new to me so I'm still testing how it looks like in campaign but Miles, Hastatus and Socii Hastati units can be found in some garrisons.

  • Q: Will these units be in SFO?

  • Q: Is this mod compatible with ****** mod?
  • A: Tbh I haven't tested it out intensively with other unit mods but I've changed the building recruitment for Sigmar's heirs so the units will appear there. Aside from mods that change how vanilla recruitment works with buildings, this mod should be pretty much compatible with anything else. Do post conflicts with other mods in the discussion section so that I can keep track.

  • Q: Save game compatible?
  • A: It just adds units to vanilla building recruitment and nothing else, so I'd say it should be.

  • Q: Naming conventions?
  • A: I am aware that Reikland or the Empire is germanic or maybe even Prussian inspired. Some of the names may not make sense when it comes to the namesake, like Miles for example, which were relatively inexperienced Legionnaires in Rome. I may change some names in the future but it's not a priority.

  • Q: What technologies/skills/buffs affect them?
  • A: Anything that affects the vanilla roster per unit type i.e. Legio Miles benefits from Handgunner buffs.

  • Q: Can I help?
  • A: Suggestions and comments are much appreciated and you can leave them in the discussions pages or tag me in the Modding Den on discord with the channel #feedback_hunt. However help with coloring meshes or creating animations would be divine though, as I don't have enough free time for those.

Making a relatively basic unit roster with custom meshes and animations such as this requires a lot of time and work. If I'm ever late with updates or anything, it just means that there are other things I'm focusing on but the mod isn't dead.

Hi there, mod is great. However, I'm missing certain units in the campaign. Is there a reason for this? Units appear on custom battles, however.
