Description


One of many SCP facilities dedicated to containment of anomalous objects and entities.





- Rooms and content ported from SCP - Containment Breach[www.scpcbgame.com].
- Twenty SCP rooms in total.
- Maintenance tunnels.
- Togglable lights.
- Max width and length surface outside of the foundation.
- Chaos Insurgency base.
- Built-in breach event. Opens all SCP chambers.
- Custom soundscapes for each area throughout the map.
- Admin control room
- No CS:S or Ep1/Ep2 content required.
- Yes, the map is noded.

Source VMF is pinned in the discussions.
Feel free to edit and use it on your server.

iirc, i used a special version of the sledge editor, and if there was a room file there was no source to, i had to import the mesh into blender and manually reconstruct the geometry.

i do have room2offices4 already made, and it was actually one of the earliest rooms i did, even before site19.

Unrelated, but how did you do the rooms? I was editing the map with the VMF for a server with mostly fixes and i noticed some of the obsolete entities correspond to stuff from Containment Breach, like the rooms were ported directly, they still even call the screen jpegs where the monitors are interactable in the game and model entities like the fuel tank in the HCZ Server room where 096 typically is encountered, and a lamp model unseen in 860s room in CB still is represented as a obsolete model entity.

Im asking because i wanted to faithfully recreate room2offices4 since that seems to be the only room absent from the map.

yeah, env_sprite clientside is where i start having issues in the map. while i dont like hacks, i could probably figure something out without entity names on them by using material proxies.

env_sprite_clientside, while it WOULD work, if the sprite has a name it will still count as a edict and output a error over it having a name as a client sprite, which means no sprite toggles.

I need to actually do this properly, but some quick messing around gave me these results:

Unedited:
Total 5734 entities (0 empty, 5383 edicts)

prop_dynamic doors / levers (270) with bone followers disabled:
Total 5198 entities (0 empty, 4847 edicts)

same as above, with env_sprites (993) turned into env_sprite_clientside:
Total 4205 entities (0 empty, 3854 edicts)

I know I keep saying this, but if it goes well, it'll be in the next update.

It is a nice map that is authentic to CB but seems to hit the Edict limit even in singleplayer after a cleanup which is odd, since the map uses around 4000 5000 edicts out of 8192, the sudden spike causes some entities to not spawn, the problem probably gets worse in multiplayer since every player is a edict and has potential to lock the game up after a cleanup aswell.

The culprit is probably the Light sprites since 948 edicts are dedicated to them pre-breach at a single time and models that dont have bone followers disabled since every collision shape is a edict and over 745 are used from prop_dynamic.

tldr holy fuck too many unnetworked/networked entities to ever use for a RP map without significant cutting down.
