Description
Presenting the Ultimate German March Collection 2.0: An ironman compatible mod that adds five stations that include over 36 hours of military content with its 759 historical time-accurate marches. UGMC 2.0 was built to pair with the Ultimate German Radio Collection (also ironman compatible) that adds even more with its 718 civilian songs, along with news events and speeches (not included in the count), bringing the total number of available marches and songs to 1475! That amounts to over 64 hours of content between the two mods!

UGRC can be found here.

Why not combine them? Each mod is created to satisfy a particular immersive itch. Where UGMC 2.0 is to foster patriotism or zeal for country and her troops while at war, or just in general, UGRC is to foster the want of an ordinary German of this era to switch on their radio, set up their feet, and listen to their favorite program after a long day at work. As such, some might not like what UGRC is setting out to achieve. Therefore, so that a user does not have to download more than they want to, the two are their own separate mods.

UGMC 2.0 is the direct successor to the Ultimate German March Collection mod. After he, the original mod author (who wishes anonymity), announced his intentions to move on, his superb work could not be left abandoned. As such, his permission was obtained to continue his work, both in support of his mod and the further expansion of it. The purpose of doing so -- as had the original mod -- is to add an immersive quality for a German play-thru, with emphasis on National Socialist Germany, that is otherwise lacking from the base game. From the original mod of its 180 marches to now, well, you can do the math. As far as I can tell, this and UGRC are the largest collection of their kind on Steam. A full list of all the marches is provided in the Discussions which can be found here.

UGMC 2.0 consists of five different in-game stations. For backwards compatibility, the coding is still there to check for fascism/peace/war/etc. Unless you have UGRC installed with the Events Collection enabled, or if you are rolling an earlier game version, the in-game random shuffle can be enabled. Now for the stations, which are: The Ultimate German March...

...General Collection: A station for general marches both for peace and at-war.

...War Collection: A station for general marches intended only for war.

The Ultimate NSDAP March Collection: Station consisting of Nationalsozialistische marches for both peace and war.

The Ultimate NSDAP March War Collection: Station for Nationalsozialistische marches intended only for war-time.

...Collection (Legacy): This at-war station consists of contemporary (1955+) marches from the original UGMC mod, or pieces that are of the same format, that do not fit the rest of the mod. These are placeholders and will be replaced as historical versions are found. (Based on your feedback, if there are users who would prefer more modern pieces to historical, with stations effectively autonomous within the mod, I may consider expanding it).

Being that this mod is the direct successor of UGMC, it will follow the similar vision of the original mod author: Providing the most expansive German march collection of the highest quality. Every effort will be taken to ensure that every piece is of CD quality, 44.1khz. However, to be the most expansive march mod collection, there may be some marches that are not of the highest bitrate as, quite simply, they are not available at 1411kbps. Additionally, they may have not been originally available at 44.1khz. When added to the mod, tools were utilized to enhance or upgrade them to stop the error.log reports. As such, sound quality may be noticeable. But should a higher quality be found, of course, they will be replaced.

Every intention is present to continue to develop and grow UGMC 2.0. However, being one person, your assistance in this regard is very much needed. If you find a piece that would be a good addition to the mod, please post your link to the Wishlist. Please review the Wishlist Discussion for criteria. Do keep in mind that the availability of content is finite so we may get to a point where growth will slow and may even altogether cease. If we get there, I will continue to support this mod for as long as I am able.

If not announced, considered the mod abandoned if:
•Response should not be had or otherwise interacting in the comment's section or providing or releasing an update to the mod over completion of the current DLC, the length of an entire DLC and a new DLC has been released;
•Or after 18 calendar months since the last update of the mod and correspondence from me following the most recent Paradox DLC released or official Paradox announcement of an upcoming DLC, if Paradox stops releasing expansions and HoI4 is considered complete.

UGMC 2.0 is open source. Permission is given for this mod to be utilized as a resource for your own mod and/or project, etc., intended for public release and use so long as:
The mod, et al....
•Is not created to be in direct competition with UGMC 2.0, unless abandoned;
•Is freely available for unlimited download and use;
•Has no monetary benefit or financial profit of any kind for the creator/publisher;
•Is not placed behind a paywall of any kind, including requiring a subscription to download let alone preview;
•Has a link/URL provided to UGMC 2.0 here on Steam; and
•Credit is given to the mod author.

At this time, UGMC 2.0 is a Steam-exclusive mod and is only supported on Steam. Uploading for use to any modding platform or community or site is prohibited without my permission, unless abandoned. If found on another modding platform or community/site, please alert me so that action can be taken to have it taken down.

This mod is created for historical and entertainment purposes/value only. It is not to propagate National Socialist ideology or propaganda, and it is not an endorsement of extremism or of National Socialism, in any form, or of the NSDAP or of the historical figures presented. I, this mod's creator, unequivocally condemns and rejects both classical and contemporary Nazism, the NSDAP, and its leaders both historical and contemporary. (However, this is not to imply or suggest that, by extension, condemnation of a user's beliefs or that a user is also required to do the same).

Some may consider the content of this mod offensive. If you are such a person, do not download this mod. Additionally, young gamers, the easily influenced, sensitive persons, and social justice warriors are all discouraged from downloading and utilizing this mod.

Although this mod's mission is to create the most extensive German march collection on Steam for HoI4, KPD (communism) pieces are not supported.

Special thanks to:
•The mod author of the original mod.
•Paradox Interactive because, well, obviously.
Internet Archive[archive.org], for without whom a lot of these pieces wouldn't be even available online.

Hi WOLFkraut! Thank you for the compliment -- very kind of you! As for your question, indeed, that is a very good question. Personally, I don't have any mod recommendations that I can suggest; however, if there's anyone here that does, please feel free to share them. :sothappy:

Is there a mod like this for Allied nations in terms of quality? The attention to detail here with these being at least 95% pre-war or wartime recordings, including some really obscure songs, is impressive. Sadly, Allied nations don't seem to have anything similar, mostly just people ripping a post-war Red Army Choir album and calling it a day, for example. Especially good wartime Commonwealth marches are hard to find.

Hi folks! Just a small update/fix changing the names of two in-game stations as their long names may contribute to the weighted shuffle not working correctly, as I had discovered with UGRC. No new content, sorry. Refer to the update notes for more information. Please let me know if you encounter any bugs or issues at all with this update. Cheers!
