Self Dyeing

Description
Allow pawns to paint their clothes on their own.
Enable an option from Styling Station, and your pawns will paint their clothes bit by bit over time.

"I ain't got no time for this, do it yourself"

- you can make so pawns prefer ideology color over favorite;
- you can make pawns dye enough clothes for a buff OR dye all clothes with one color OR dye all clothes with ideo and favorite colors using one of them as primary;
- an option to make some fixed patters on how apparel should be dyed;

Some guidlines on how to control patterns:
- patterns without rules do nothing (except for pattern "do not dye");
- using multiple colonist outfits in the same pattern passes it to any one of selected outfits;
- using multiple apparel outfits in the same patternt makes so ALL selected outfits should allow a piece of apparel;
- using multiple layer rules in the same pattern makes so ALL layers should be a part of the same piece of apparel;
- using multiple body part group rules in the same pattern makes so ALL of them should be a part of the same piece of apparel;
- patterns work by the rule of "first come first sirved", i.e. first pattern that gets applied to a piece of apparel cancels all the following;
- patterns have higher priority over "random" dyeing, so colonists might not be able to achieve a buff because patters don't allow it.

You can see layers and bodyparts that clothing covers in clothing stats.

Often asked questions:
Q: I see more colors in station menu than in the mod selection.
A: Other colors are from current colony ideologies and from favorite of current pawn. It seems that game may add multiple ideo colors. So styling station has extra "variable" colors, when pattern editor only offers fixed ones.

I could try. There are certain complications when comparing custom colors to favorite or ideo ones (they actually can never be custom and supposed to have an ID). I might just prentend that custom colors are never equal to the ones that have ID, or try to make a "close enough" check if mechalics allow that kind of thing.

You think there's any way to update the pattern custom color selection to open up an RGB slider or wheel menu instead of the somewhat limited preset color squares? Mod works great, I just wonder if there could be a bit more functionality pulled out of it.

I also sometimes have a guy join who is already at like 40% mood, by the time he walks from across the map to the colony he's about to break, but instead of having a beer or going to sleep 1st thing he does is going to recolor his apparel while his mood keeps dipping. It's no biggie, just if I knew if the dying job is "Basic" or whatever job type I could lower the priority.

Unfortunelly that's vanilla. Vanilla has the same check that checks for style change. I guess I could at least disable "my" part if a pawn isn't in a good condition to do that.

It would be great if there were a way to make them ignore the need to dye clothes if they are injured.

Hi, what Job type is the Recoloring apparel? I've got rescued pawns in extreme conditions getting up from bed to try to recolor their gear :D

Nope. This mod doesn't even address hair. Though probably wouldn't be outside of the scope since hair can be colored using styling station.

I'm looking for a mod that will REMOVE hairdye, reverting back to the pawns natural colour. There doesn't seem to be one that does it explicitly, was wondering if it might be a hidden feature of this one.

No problem. Glad you resolved it.

Hey man, I need to retract my previous comment. With another attempt, I was able to get everything working. Turns out I had tried the AutoDye mod first, and decided I didn't like it, and installed yours instead. AutoDye makes permanent changes to colonist outfits that persist even when the mod was removed. That was what was causing the colonists to ignore all the patterns and go haywire. Mod is working great once I deleted and remade all outfits. Thanks a million.
