Major edit: I finally added Ripto's new bling outfit! I had to fix up parts of the outfit that I missed or had misaligned, and I had a couple bugs I needed to fix so I've updated the mod again. Ripto also has special dialogue when he talks to an Elduukhar. They are dragons and Ripto HATES dragons. I would've added it sooner, but I don't think Ripto is compatible with Frackin Universe. I decided not to do the bling scepter as in sprite form, it'll be almost the same as the regular scepter just with a differently shaped gem and a dollar sign tip.

Ripto from Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is here to conquer the universe! For fans that have always wanted to play as Ripto, this is a perfect mod. Ripto NPCs use an NPC version of Ripto's Scepter. The NPC Ripto's Scepter will fire a projectile that arcs more to correct an issue with NPCs aiming over targets' heads. You start off with a regular Ripto's Scepter found in the ship locker. Ripto's Scepter and NPC Ripto's Scepter can also be crafted at Ripto's Spell Table or dropped from Ripto NPCs. The scepter looks good used with Ripto's Magic Barrier and Orb Techs. Other spell weapons are cast from Ripto's Scepter, but have different icons to tell them apart. Don't dual wield them with other "Ripto's Scepters" or it'll look funny, so put them in separate slots. Phoenix Spell is inspired by Terraria's Phantom Phoenix, and Ripto's Magic Wings are inspired by Jim's Wings and Nebula Mantle from Terraria. Ripto's Scepter, Arrow of Light, Telekinesis Spell, and Levitation Spell are one handed weapons that use the alt attack when using shift + mouse click. The former two function as a bow, and the latter two function as a staff. The latter two are also utility spells. Telekinesis Spell lets you teleport to the cursor in a puff of smoke (click) and summon a controllable force cage (shift + click) to move dropped items and annoying NPCs that insist on getting in your way. The Levitation Spell allows you to fly (when holding click down) and summon a controllable healing zone (shift + click).

Ripto's wing spell glows in the dark and it, the vampire wings, and phantom wings have realistic flapping animations. Use the flight spell tech while wearing them. Ripto ambush events were removed in an earlier update due to people finding hostiles too tough and/or disliking NPCs randomly showing up. Ripto and his minions randomly beam in while you explore on a planet. One ambush event is hostile and the other is friendly. Event NPCs (also removed from this mod) will despawn when far enough offscreen if you don't want to deal with them. Like the non-event NPCs (still in this mod), there's regular and stronger variations. The stronger ones have custom stats and are more powerful, but non-event NPCs can only be spawned with admin commands. If you are playing as Ripto, NPC Ripto and his minions will think you're a clone. Show them who the real Ripto is! There's also two unique orbs, Ice and Dark. Ripto's items are crafted at Ripto's Spell Table, Ripto's Potion Table, and Ripto's Magic Loom. Ripto's scepter and all spell weapons cast from it will either look like Ripto's standard scepter or his Phantom of the Badlands scepter. Only Ripto can craft his items unless you use admin commands or Spawnable Item Pack with OpenStarbound.

This 'race mod' focuses on Ripto and not his whole species. The only difference between the "male" and "female" slot is Ripto uses a different instance of him saying "ouch" when hurt. Spell armor and the EPP spell icons are based on the Nebula buffs from Terraria. Ripto has custom scan descriptions and special dialog when talking to another Ripto and different dialog when speaking to other races. NPC Riptos are encountered through occasional ambush events (will be in an addon). Ambush events are spaced apart to feel natural, but Ripto clones and loyalists who think their Ripto is real is a possibility. There's no plans for dungeons. Ripto is just starting out gathering followers to help him take over castles. Ripto mostly stays in his castle ship. What better castle to keep as a permanent residence than one you can take with you across space to conquer the universe? If you want to remove that ability to use it for a standard one handed or two handed weapon, then remove the shiftHeld stuff from the update function and also remove self.activatingFireMode = "primary" from the init function. No weapon comes with this because I figured people would want to make their own weapon. And also, edit the projectile however you wish!

FutaraDragon: Blue Orb tech projectile uses a barrier sprite from Futara's dragon mod. I used Futara's fullbright pixel shader to make the magic wings and spikes of Ripto's crown fullbright.
CyanSkyKnight: Creator of the Saturnians Race mod let me use assets from the baton gun weapons to make some of Ripto's spell weapons.
Olaroll: Author of Universal Winged Flight is the creator of the flight assets I used in this mod.
