Five-SeveN | Under the Hood

This skin is inspired by vintage cars from the 50s-70s (like the ones you see in Cuba). The gunsmith top of the gun features the pastel paint and metal trims which are common for these models. The bottom of the gun goes under the hood of the car and features many different parts which are puzzled together to fit the shape of the weapon.

Origin

About a year and a half ago I visited a museum in which an old knitting machine from the 80s was displayed. I liked the combination of the vintage style with the machinery and thought it would be a nice concept for a cs go skin. But back then I didn't think I could make a mechanical skin that looked good so forgot about it. About 2 months ago I remembered the picture I took and finally took on the challenge. Unfortunately I couldn't find any good reference on the machine I saw back then so I decided to shift the theme of the skin to vintage cars.

Creation time

I spent 6 weeks creating this skin. The first 3 weeks were spent on painting the normal map and the last 3 on adding materials, lighting, and tweaking the skin. You can find a gif of my progress on the submitted skins.
