I heavily suggest to only pack 2 instead of 3 people into the rocket on the first trip (P3).
Pack a pilot and a scientist and swap them out if you need to reset the science instruments. You need the additional empty seat in the crew cabin if you want to swap out the pilot and the scientist in the front cabine.
