Measure twice and cut once

Ceracut! 🧰

After the big success that the Glock-18 Ceracut was I decided to quickly get on making the skin for another gun. This time I decided to go for the deagle because the slide is a nice canvas to add the cuts on. I also decided to create all 5 colour variants so that the community has the choice which one they want to see more. I hope there is a version for you that you like and I'd love to know which one it is!

Work Process 🔨

I pretty much instantly started thinking about potential next guns for this skin collection and the deagle was the first gun I decided to really give it a go on. There were some design decissions I had to make to make sure it turned out nicely and I will highlight some of them here.

Firstly I decided to just colour the bottom of the magazine and the slide of the gun (and those 3 little buttons) because when I initially painted the body around the grip it seemed kinda off. I tried different little versions with different parts coloured and this version turned out the best of the 4. Below you find a WIP of what it looked like in a different colour balance

This brings me to my next thing which were the cutouts. As you can see above the cutouts went through a little iteration process as well. Some designs were too busy, while others were missing something. The deagle also has some UV mirroring issues on the backside which I had to account for. The current design is a nice balance between trying to fix some of the technical limits of the model, and keeping a clean pleasing look to the slide.

Last Words 👋

Thanks for checking out the skin, I hope you enjoy it and I'll see you guys in the next submission!

Love,

Hollandje ❤️
