Blade Mastery

Description
Blade Mastery

This mod allows you to develop your courtiers' blademaster skills.

First, you need to appoint someone to the Blademaster position who's got any level of the blademaster trait.

Then, you right-click one of your courtiers or family members, who must be a healthy adult with at least 12 prowess and select "Become a Blademaster".

The skill of the Court's Blademaster must be at least that your character aspires to achieve.

Table of Time and Cost to Complete Blademaster Training

Legendary Blademaster

Recent Changes

- Created a Blademaster court position. The mod no longer uses Personal Champion as the court's trainer.
- Added a modifier (little icon in the character screen) that indicates that a character is undergoing training and when they are supposed to finish it.
- A number of traits now impede a character from start training, including: wheezing, frail, weak and blind, among others.

Remarks

Once your character starts training, it will become a blademaster even if something happens to the court's blademaster.

Sadly, it looks like Murden has given up on his CK3 mods

Does it need / will it have 1.12.1 (Legends of the Dead) compatibility update?

Is it save to add/remove on ongoing games?

Murden, in the character_interactions file you left febble and frail for BladeMaster levels 2 and 3, but fixed it for level 1. I haven't seen a Legendary Blademaster since the new system went in place. I barely see any characters with any experience in Blademaster at all. I don't think you can get experience from regular wars, only Tournaments or dueling.

Is there a possible way for this mod to have an automation for everyone within your court that have just turned 16 be taught to Become a Blademaster. Like for example a culture warrior background enables this trope to begin, it would be awesome to not click become a blademaster everytime. But of course this is just a suggestion after all

@Murden They're still about, just of the wrong faith or culture for me to attract to court. Lot of Norse Asatru blademasters in 867. My work around up North is forced conversion/recruitment from prison, but that's untenable in the South since the Norse aren't very active in the Mediterranean in my games.

@Deagroth Interesting work-around. I've been avoiding tourneys until Paradox fixes the audio bug. Nothing like having the game play the same five seconds of sound on non-stop repeat to cure any interest in an activity. It's a confirmed bug on their forum, but only impacts some players it seems. I'm one of the lucky... :/

It might, but in a Grand Tournament I hosted with the only contest being a melee as an unreformed Asatru/Norse I got lucky and a maxed out blademaster popped up that I could recruit.

Looked through the tournament_events file and it's from tournament_events.7000. It'll create a character of the non-dominate gender that is disguised in armor and trying to participate. It'll only happen for the player, but I'm not sure if you necessarily need to be the host. It is more likely if your intent is to recruit knights though. This "Mulan" character is guarantted to be a level 3 / legendary blademaster.

I'm thinking that hosting grand tournaments with duels and the intent to recruit knights might be a good way to try and find legendary blademasters.

I changed the mod to use the new exp system, but you're right in the sense that the new exp system probably makes legendary blademasters more rare.

I'm wondering if part of the problems with this is that the Blademaster traits were changed to use the new trait exp system rather than just being three traits.

Can we get a "recruit blademaster" decision similar to the vanilla recruit terrain specialist option? In 867 start, often cannot find a legendary blademaster to attract to my court via courtier marriage due to faith or culture differences. Just not enough Catholics good with the blade I guess.
