Description
PSA: In order to fix a critical bug I've had to reduce the range granted by this mod significantly from 4000 meters to 600. However the default is 30 so it's still worth using.

What does this mod do?
Massively increases the range of the short range scanner in order to make data leak scanning less tedious and annoying. This should make it easier to scan from M ships as well as make it possible to scan from L and XL ships if you so desire.

Does this make the game easier?
Yes, technically, but I think it just saves you time. The range is still short enough that you'll have to go into station turret range, so I don't think it effects the balance of the game.

Strange, the mod isn't throwing any errors because nothing changed, it just seems like the game is now blindly ignoring the config option as of 8.0. I posted on the forums to see if anyone knows why, but it's had less than 6 views in over 24hrs 🤷‍♂️

Was gonna add, that it doesn't seem to work for 8.0 but can see you are already aware.
Doesn't have any adverce effects to keep the mod installed though, just defaults to vanilla range. So gonna keep it on, in the hopes that you manage to figure out how to make it work again.

I am in the process of updating this mod. I am having difficulty identifying why it isn't working though. It appears something was added to prevent editing the range. I'm working on figuring it out.

with 8.0 The data leak range is nolonger extended. It's back to Vanilla distance.
