Introduction

This is the second patrol vessel from Kriger. This is the Wolf. She is a very capable vessel available for a multitude of operations. Fire fighting, Patrolling, Search and Rescue operations, Escort and more she's up for the task!

Inspired by the real life Armidale class from Austal. I used deck plans to build her similar to the real one.

Information

  • Length: 52 meters
  • Power: 4 Large Diesel Engines and 1 Modular Generator Engine
  • Max Speed: around 17knots
  • 40mm gun Turret
  • 50cal hmg x2
  • Onboard Firefighting capability
  • Projection Radar
  • Horus Radar
  • Engines Fire Suppression System
  • VHF Radio x2
  • Fuel Balancing across all tanks
  • Emergency Beacon Locator
  • Emergency Radio Beacon Locator
  • Stabilized Gimball Camera
  • Rhib on deck for fast deployement
  • Swing davits for fast rescue
  • Realistic Heading Hold
  • Observer Type Radar

Operation

  • I will add a video showing up a cold start soon
  • Go to the Engine Room
  • Generator Ignition & Starter
  • Fuel Oil Valves at the feet of both engines
  • Found on the Blue Control Panels at the end of the Engine Room:
  • Exhaust Pumps, Fuel Oil Pumps, Coolant Pumps
  • EG Controls from Bridge
  • Ignition
  • Do that for both Main Engines
  • Head to the Bridge
  • Bridge Setup:
  • Comms Systems
  • Electrical Systems
  • Bridge Systems
  • EN on Horus Radar Screen
  • RADAR POWER on the right of the Captain's chair
  • Wait for the Nav Pilot to load fully (located on the right of the Captain's chair)
  • When you turn on RADAR POWER, the Radar, right in front of you won't turn on instantly, it needs to load first.
  • Use 1 or 2 on the Keyboard to shift gears up or down since it shifts both engines at the same time
  • Use W/S for Port (Left) Engine Throttle
  • Use Up/Down for Starboard (Right) Engine Throttle
  • With both engines operated independently you can do tighter turns. More throttle on the right Engine over the left one will make you turn left. Add rudder and your turn is tighter.

Nav Pilot:

I will add a video on how to use the Nav Pilot with the Azimuth Finder soon.

To use the Nav Pilot by itself, click the Blue button once and the letter underneath the Heading will be an S for Set: increase or decrease the desired heading using the Red or Green buttons. When your desired heading is ready to be set, LONG press the blue button until the letter S becomes and A for Auto. The ship will steer torwards the desired heading and will maintain it. To change it live, just increase or decrease using the Red and Green buttons. To disable the Nav Pilot, just hit the blue button and it will turn to M for Manual.

FIRE FIRE FIRE:
On the Aft deck where the intakes are located open the hatches and turn the key to shut off Air Intake.
Above the Engine room, Open up the safety case for Emergency Fuel Shutoff and Press the Fuel Shutoff button.
You can then use firefighting equipment to combat fire.

In the engine room there's also two fire suppression safety cases to douse the Main Engines

Maybe. I will check if there is tracking on the real ship. In any case I need to finish up new ships before I do an other round of updates

On note of the CIWS/40mm could you maybe add a tracking system for it as it would greatly help the ship in combat

Could you add some CIWS on the ship? Maybe on the top of the big empty area in front of the bridge and maybe fit one on the rear. It'd help make it stand out as a patrol boat as well as cover blind spots from aircraft

Wolf now has guns

Engines bog down a bit and can't hold speed past gear 3. Any ideas why? Great ship otehrwise

@White Brow: Oh I see well that's because in real life that's how it works. You can turn the ship using just throttles and no rudder if you want. Or you can turn in a tight radius by using rudder and a little less power on one engine when compared to the other. You can also turn in a very tight radius by using rudder, fwd power on one engine and aft (reverse) power on the other engine.

Like how the port and starboard engines both are throttled up individually
