The player plays against the Dealer/House. Bets must be placed before cards are dealt. Bets are valid for one hand only. The cards are dealt face up, one to each player and then one
to the Dealer followed by a second card to each player. The goal is to get a Higher total than the dealer without busting over 21 (too many) A = 1/11, J,Q,K = 10. The dealers second card is placed face down and not turned up until all players have satisfied their hit (draw 1) until they wish to stand (satisfied ) to get as close to 21 as possible without busting (too many - over 21). The exception to this is after all cards have been dealt and the dealer is showing an Ace, the players can buy insurance (half their bet) wagering that the dealer has black jack Ace + 10, if this is the case then as soon as all players have decided buy insurance or not the dealer secretly checks the face down and says yes or no. If yes Dealer wins over anything below 21 and the next round proceeds, if not dealer Black Jack play as usual (if player also has black jack player wins too.) If dealer and player have same number at the end of the round its known as a push, the player gets his initial wager back for that hand not including side bets, or insurance.
