MV Prometeo

This is the MV prometeo, a fictional ocean liner for the fictional Arcadia line, the ship itself was a design of Norman Bel Geddes in the 1930's as featured in his own book. The super futuristic look of this ship was far ahead of its time.

The design philosophy behind this ship was to streamline the ship according to that of a seaborn animal, such as a whale, in this ship's case, a porpoise. this would cause the ship to produce minimal drag and therefor would allow the ship to travel much faster than conventional ships, more powerful engines only got you so far.

Aside from a fascinating hull design, it also had many interesting features not seen before on any other passenger ship. The glass canopy on the back of the ship would be retracted in good weather, so the indoors artificial beach and tennis court would become outdoors. It was supposed to have a luxurious art deco styled interior, and at some point was even proposed to have a catapult airplane launching site mounted inside the second funnel.
