Immersive CD Players

Description
Attention! Do not use iCDPlayers in public live streaming of the game - it may infringe the copyright of the music owners.

Realistic functionality of CD-players and CDs.
1337 tracks on 118 CDs + custom CDs (85 user tracks on 5 CD-R)

Save friendly!
Lore friendly!
All music in the mod corresponds to the lore of the game and does not go beyond 1994.

Full-fledged albums of the groups - fully corresponding to real CDs, as well as compilations.
Genres: pop / rock / reggae / punk / rap / hip-hop / disco / synth-pop / heavy-thrash-death-black-metal / blues / jazz / classical / rock&roll / ethno / country / electronic / soundtracks etc.

iCDPlayers doesn't add anything to the world item distribution tables and creates CDs randomly when a character checks one it finds - a vanilla CD. Don't use the cheat menu - you won't be able to get a CD player or full CD from it. Items obtained in this way simply will not contain the necessary tables for the mod to work correctly. This will automatically remove both the player and the disc to avoid errors. Do not use multiple Immersive CD players at the same time, this will cause errors and delete the used CD players. How to get a specific (desired) CD, you can read in:
Custom CDs (detailed instructions)

In response to the question and (silly) complaints about the sound quality in the mod...
- With high-quality music tracks in the mod, the total size of the mod files will be over 10 gigabytes, I hope this is a comprehensive answer.

Description:
• Right click (context menu) on a vanilla CD > Inspect CD - Converts a vanilla CD to a playable music CD.
• Right click (context menu) on Battery > Insert Battery into vanilla CD player. This will convert the vanilla player to a usable music player.
• Context menu on the CD box - you will get comprehensive information about the disc (you will see the cover, numbers, titles and duration of the tracks).
• The CD box viewing window "remembers" its location on the screen if you moved the window to a convenient place for you.
To search for Russian music, you must have a Silver Necklace with Crucifix in your inventory (relevant only for players with non-Russian localization).
• In the dark, the character will not see the information - on the CD box.
• For playback, the CD player must be in the main inventory.
- Do not use more than one CD player in your inventory at the same time, this will cause errors.
Earbuds[pzwiki.net] must be equipped on the character's head - so that you can hear the music.
In a fight with a zombie - equipped Earbuds can fly off the character's head.
The sound is played only for the character, other players and zombies do not hear it.
• Listening to music reduces boredom and unhappiness.
A deaf character will not hear music and will not receive a mood improvement.
• When you turn on the CD player, the volume of the background music (vanilla) is automatically reduced to zero, and returns to the previous level (which was before it was turned on) when the CD player is turned off.
• The "Music Lover" trait increases the battery life of your CD player by 100%.
• When using the time boost in the game - the battery consumption of the switched-on CD player - will also be consumed with the acceleration.
• Battery consumption is calculated differently for different game day lengths relative to real time.
Volume control - The volume level can be selected from the context menu, or by pressing - [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] keys (can be changed in the game settings). By default, the volume of the CD player is set to 50% (when installing or replacing the battery). The CD player will remember the volume you set if you did not remove the battery.
• You can switch the playing tracks - previous and next, when the last track on the disc ends, the first track will automatically start playing.
Switching tracks keys - [Arrow Left] / [Arrow Right] (can be changed in the game settings).
• You can turn On/Off track repeat and turn On/Off shuffle mode.
You can hang the CD player on your belt and switch tracks without removing it from the belt.
• The CD player will remember the track you pressed the Stop button on and will continue playing from that track - provided that you have not ejected the disc, removed the battery, and are not dead.

Take your music with you...

The info for the Music Lover trait specifically says you start with a CD player and a CD, so idk what randomness you're talking about.

And I know the CDs are random, I just found it funny that you put a CD-R in, with no songs on it, and it happened to be the one I got lol

Glad you liked it
"...The Music Lover Trait doesn't give you a CD player when you come, as it says."
It's all very random, and the character trait plays a certain role here - good or bad luck.
There was no trolling with the first CD-R...it's a random process.

Anyone coming here confused like I was (and maybe emphasize you gotta really read the instructions in the description) this requires way more steps than normal the normal in-game CD players. Once you find a CD, you have to inspect it to "convert" it to a CD case with a CD in it. It will tell you the album and song info from there. Then once you finally get a CD player, you have to take the battery out, and then right click the battery and insert it to "convert" that into the mod CD player. Then you have to right click to take the CD out of the case, right click to put the CD in the CD player, and make sure you are physically wearing headphones instead of inserting them into the device like you do normal vanilla devices. Only then can you enjoy the music.

Idk why it's so complicated, but... I kinda like it lol

Yeah the "Music Lover" trait does not give a CD player on spawn like it says it does.

After scrounging for forever, RNG finally blessed me with a CD player. Also the first CD I got ended up being an empty CD-R. Very trolly of you my friend lol

Also the "poor audio quality" just fits what the sound was like back then tbh. There were not many high quality portable headphones that just plugged straight into discmans, heck CDs were only just popping off in popularity at the time. I can assure you the audio was just as crunchy back then.

best mod!

Well, in general, headphones from iCDPlayer always worked with vanilla radios.

Does this mod work with walkie talkies? I installed the mod on to existing save, it changed my earbuds to the modded version but now i cant put them in the walkie talkie anymore. Do i need to find a new walkie that is the mod version? There is a reddit post about this (https://www.reddit.com/r/projectzomboid/comments/tn4xtj/mod_for_walkie_talkie_to_work_on_the_belt/) but step 3 will not work for me. Thanks!

When I equip the CD player, the CD player menu will not be displayed. What should I do?
