Step one, browse into Alexander main folder and leave this window open.
Step two, browse into Steam, Rome folder.
Step three, copy and paste or drag the BI folder to Alexander folder (copy leaves the folder in Rome and makes a duplicate and dragging simply moves the folder)
Step four, use the arrow at the top of the Rome folder to go up one level to see the Rome folder with your other Steam games folders.
Step five, drag or copy and paste the Rome folder into Alexander (again, copying and pasting makes a duplicate and dragging and dropping moves the entire folder instantly)
Step six, in the main Alexander folder, open Alexander folder and in data there is a file named chat_filter.san. Right click, select copy.
Step seven, open the Rome folder in Alexander folder, right click, and paste the chat_filter.san file into Rome.
Step eight, go back up one folder level, open the BI folder in Alexander, right click, paste the chat_filter.san file into BI

Last step, open steam launch options (can give a step by step if needed)

To play Rome, use -mod:Rome -show_err -ne -nm -noalexander
To play Barbarian Invasion, use -mod:bi -show_err -ne -nm -noalexander

Next, if you will add a mod, there are multiple ways to do this. As the Rome files in Alexander folder are VERY basic and NOT complete I recommend to copy the Rome folder contents to a new folder named whatever the mod name, then copy the mod folder contents directly to this folder overwriting all files needed so the folder has all the Rome files AND mod files. Then follow step 6 & 7 to add the chat_filter.san file and use the same launch options replacing Rome or bi with the name of the new mod folder to launch.
