This is the final update subscribe and give comments for feedback on if you like it or dont its nice to know.

The major commodities shipped on the Boise Valley Railroad include potatoes, lumber, fertilizer, and fuels. The railroad will also be assuming switching duties for many of the industries in the Boise area.

INPR (Idaho Northern Pacific Railroad) provides freight service over four former UP branch lines in southwestern Idaho and northeastern Oregon. The Oregon Division runs from a UP connection at La Grande to Elgin, OR (20.6 miles). The Idaho Division runs from a UP connection at Payette to Cascade, OR (100.9 miles). Traffic includes agricultural products, forest products, and chemicals.

History

The line from Payette to Emmett was built between 1906 and 1910 by the Payette Valley Railroad and acquired by the Oregon Short Line Railroad in August 1914. In 1914 the line was extended from Emmett to Cascade and beyond. The line in Oregon was built by the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company in stages through the 1890s. UP sold Idaho and Oregon Divisions to INPR on November 15, 1993. INPR filed for abandonment for a portion of the Oregon Division between Elgin to Joseph, OR (60.6 miles) in 1997. This line was purchase by Wallowa County and operates as the Wallowa Union Railroad Authority. In March 1999, INPR leased the Caldwell to Wilder Branch (11 miles), and the Boise Cutoff from Nampa to Hillcrest (24.8 miles). In November 2009, the lease for the Wilder Branch and Boise Cutoff was transferred to the Boise Valley Railroad.

Hi again,
Thanks for the info =PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper.
I understand your frustration in not being able to complete it. Having checked it out, I can see you put a lot of good work into it, but as you say - it's lacking quite a lot.
Regards

@Not.Silent It's lacking quite a lot.
I was going to do a remake of this route with terrain data so it wasn't just flat level ground.
I made this version before I knew how the games import terrain data worked.

The route has the correct latitude and longitude coordinates to input the correct terrain data, however that would have required me to raise all the current laid track.
However Google changed the method of getting the API key to use Google maps overlay in the game which was free at the time.

Hi =PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper and Cyclone. Now this is Final, I will now Subscribe and check it out for creating and publishing on.
I will acknowledge your creation when publishing. Well done.

Can confirm it shows as final now. Will poke some people who make scenarios.

@Cyclone Should be marked final now.
Providing the game recognizes me as the original up-loader.

I no longer have the original PC I started this route on, and I don't know if that's a determining factor.

In the game, when publishing, you would find a button there that says to make the route final. Click that and you will update it again in its current form on your PC, and you will not be able to make any further update beyond that. This also unlocks scenarios to be uploaded for the route, which is why updates to the route would then be blocked. Just make sure every junction and path works, especially given the game's updates, before marking it as final. :steamhappy:

I did recently download the current form of the route, so if it's not installed I can guide you to have a clean version in the event you have to redownload it. The clean files are in the subscription archive, which is currently a WinRAR file at best. An update now would be in a different format that works with 7Zip.

@Cyclone I'm not sure how to do that to be honest.
I don't exactly put out many workshop items to be more familiar on how to do that.
I even tried Googling how to do it, but get directed to game library results.

I thought the title would have been sufficient to indicate it was finished.

Granted, now that I have a better understanding of versions, it should say Union Pacific Idaho and Ontario Oregon Finished Version v0.6.1 not 6.1

I almost had the track line finished, which would have taken less than an hour to do before I moved to adding buildings, roads, trees, weeds among other small details along the route.

Unfortunately, my PC at the time couldn't handle what the route currently has and kept crashing.
I no longer have the original file or means to use the built in tools the game has to finish or update this route.
Cyclone 27 Oct, 2024 @ 11:10pm
Hi. If this is a final version, can you please update it to say so? That way users can create and release scenarios for it so we can enjoy the route just that little bit more. :steamhappy:

I do know that google now bills for API data, But the limit is extremely high before they actually charge anything, I have an API account set up with them now and they said that I would not be billed unless I reached the maximum usage, which is like 200 gigs a month If i remember correctly, and they will stop data transfer unless I approve of the charge.

Have the the terrain data to cover the following states Idaho, Washington, Oregon.
Most of Nevada and Utah and part of California connecting to Oregon and Nevada.

I don't think anyone's PC would be able to handle a route that covers all rail lines in those states plus detail.
