Armour-Hider (item)

Description
Getting annoyed from having to carry invisible items on you in order to hide your armour?

Do you feel that removing your shirt, pants or hat only to see your armour instead of your underwear/hatless head is immersion breaking?

Do you just wish you were able to make your armour invisible at will?

Well do I have the item for you.

Introducing the Armour-Hider, an easily accessible item that allows you to make your armour/backpack invisible(and back) at will, all for the low-low price of y̴̡̲̑̕õ̷̻͙u̴̡͊r̶͙͇̓͘ ̷͔̈s̴̥͑̊ò̶̧̦̚u̵͈͊l̸̳̀.

Usage/Instructions:

Use LMB to hide your currently worn armour and RMB to make it visible again.

You can press the button a second time to apply the effect to your backpack.

If you hold shift and press LMB you can toggle the item to cosmetics mode where it will affect your cosmetic slots instead of your armour.

If you hold shift and press RMB you will make the item use a alternative set of directives that fully hide your armour (normal mode leaves 000000FF visible which is what gives hidden armour their icon), really its only useful on armour that uses that specific colour in their sprites.

You craft the Armour-Hider by opening handcrafting and using one of the following search terms:
"antr", "armour", "armor"
Also it costs nothing so that you can simply delete the item after you hide your armour so that it doesn't take up space (note there's a slight bug with the crafting interface where you have to hit "craft" twice to get the item)

Do's/Don'ts:

>Do NOT use dyes on hidden items, depending on the mod the dye came from it can have a variety of effects.

>You can safely hide items with custom drawables, but I highly suggest using caution when doing so because I haven't extensively stress-tested this feature.

Required Installations:
antrUtilityLib

Addons:
[Armour-Hider] Mannequin Shows Hidden Items

Compatibility/Issues:

>Adds a single item, Should work with all mods

>There's no way that I know of to make items that make the player invisible when worn to stop doing so when hidden.

>If the Armour-Hider plays an alarm sound instead of hiding your armour (same sound as the alarm object you find in some bunkers, don't confuse it with the sound that plays when you don't have anything to hide/unhide) that means that the failsafe that checks to make sure that the specific item can be hidden with no corruption triggered and posted an error report inside your log file, I need that report(or the spawn command of the item) to fix the error.

Servers:
This mod has to be installed both serverside and clientside.

Otherwise, you can just install the clientside version

Uninstallation:
Delete any Armour-Hiders you have built first and then just uninstall
No need to unhide your items as Armour-Hider uses custom item parameters and stores any information needed to unhide the item inside said item.

FAQ:

Q: I accidentally used dye, what do I do?
A: Unhide the item and re-hide it. Armour-Hider's reaction varies based on what mod the dye comes from, But usually it will fix the item, in some cases applying the dye while in others it will undo it.

Q: X item still makes me invisible even when I hide it.
A: I unfortunately can't do anything about clothing that make the player invisible since I have no way to remove/override the tag that makes the player invisible from custom item parameters.

Q: Can I take hidden items to a server without Armour-Hider?
A: Armor-Hider uses custom item parameters to both hide the item and store the information needed to unhide it. So yes, you can take it to a server without Armour-Hider, but you might need to uninstall Armour-Hider first.

Jokes aside, yeah, it's a joke, the item costs nothing to craft.

the 'for the... price of your soul' bit is a joke right

editing the dye script is gonna be a bit of a mess, especially considering that I want to make a clientside version of this mod (which I already did, I just need to find the energy to finish stress-testing it)

maybe only if you can change dye's scripts

yea, kinda. Armour-Hider's point is more that it can also undo the "hiding" process regardless of the situation.

as for the directives, they're:
"?replace;000000ff=01010100?multiply=FFFFFF00?replace;01010100=000000ff"
or "?multiply=FFFFFF00" if the target item has trouble with the first one

and helmets also get a custom mask:
"/items/armors/decorative/hats/eyepatch/mask.png"

also I'm not sure if dyes can change an item's mask, that's really important when making a helmet invisible.

or "?multiply=0000"

@Endermob11

From what I've seen, Hyper light drifter Hud looks to just be a UI mod.
Armour-Hider only adds a single item that has a lot of code attached to it, they should work fine together.

Does this work with the Hyper light Drifter HUD?
