Asteroid Station Alpha

Description
An asteroid station built using the Quick Start 1 map. The station includes two landing platforms, airlocks, outside defenses, internal defenses, a command center, a medial bay, and various storage contains and other devices. Was created using no mods.

The pregenerated small ships were used to drill a hole though the asteroid with missiles. The hand drill was used to smooth out rough areas so the internals of the station could be built. This will be an interesting facility to use once multiplayer is available.

Update: Added a new small craft. More to come...

General Astrodynamics GS-101 "Bumble Bee" Gunship - Named after a long exinct, awkwardly proportioned stinging insect from Earth, the GS-101 has a powerful sting. The boxy craft is designed to operate solely in the vacuum of space, thus requires no lifting surfaces for atmospheric flight. The GS-101 can accelerate to high speeds for quick strafing runs on ships and space stations with its quad-machineguns and missile launchers. The gunship is slow to deccelerate, however, making it ill suited for situations requiring rapid changes in forward velocity. The "Bumble Bee" is designed to go in fast, deliver a painful sting, and get out fast. Its array of size lateral thrusters make it suited rapid broadside attacks on large ships and spacestations. Its small frontal and rear profiles makes for a difficult target. Add in its fast forward velocity, and ability to deliver a lethal payload of ordinnce the GS-101 "Bumble Bee" is a small but capacle battleship hunter.

Rotating Space Station - The large rotating structure above Asteroid Station Alpha is the beginnings of what will become a rotating space station. The internal surfaces of the station will have gravity in all sections. The size of facility upon completion will be extensive to say the least. This is a long term project.
