Improved Husks

The Improved Husks mod aims to improve and expand the influence of the mysterious "husk parasite" in the world of Barotrauma in many ways.

Core Features

-Almost every single biological creature in the game can now be turned into a husk. This means that you can run into various husked monsters while playing, as well as witness the transformation of any of them if infected.

-Some husked monsters can further transform into mutants, new custom deadly monsters that can be encountered while playing, as well as manually created, voluntarily and involuntarily.

-New items are now accessible through crafting in the fabricator, allowing you to enter symbiosis with the husk infection, temporarily gain impossible levels of regeneration and even boost the growth of various creatures for your own benefit.

Compatibility

This mod overrides the following vanilla content:

- Husk Infection originally found in "Content\Afflictions.xml"

- Husk Stinger Weapon originally found in "Content\Items\CreatureLoot\creatureloot.xml"

- Calyxanide (Husk Infection Antidote) originally originally found in "Content\Items\Medical\medical.xml"

- Human Husk character originally found in "Content\Characters\Humanhusk\Humanhusk.xml"

- Husk character originally found in "Content\Characters\Husk\Husk.xml"

- Crawler Husk character originally found in "Content\Characters\Crawlerhusk\Crawlerhusk.xml"

The more things a mod overrides, the harder it is for it to be compatible with other mods in general.

this mod is abandoned the dev made a new one called enhanced husks which is basically just this but updated. Also large monsters are kind of just their normal counterparts but with the ability to infect although certain infected creatures do have special abilities

cont. Like other comments have said, needs updating and personally it still needs a lot of balancing.
Not a terrible mod considering the effort that's been put into it, but certainly a far cry from being enjoyable.

Is there any description of what the husked large creatures actually do?
Are they just simply more tanky, or do they cause infection to occur twice as fast?
For a mod that adds in so much content, there isn't really enough description of what the content actually is...
Further more, I think this mod is just bloated out in general, some really interesting ideas with the husk mutation, but I don't think this feature is for everyone.
Furthermore, I personally believe if the content of the mod was divided into separate downloadable files - user customisation and personalisation would be a fantastic feature.
Not the biggest fan of having a literal immortal husk npc run onboard your ship and kills everyone with no chance of fighting back... (Unless you have endgame tier gear or playing coop with friends...)

ima build a mudraptor containment facility and just infect em -testing will be fun when i throw a civilian into the pit.

Is this still functional? and can it be removed mid-campaign? Sya's Iteration was just deleted from the workshop and I'm worried it will brick my campaign if I don't replace it

if there was a variant that was just husked humans and crawler content it would be SO peak while not being a total overhaul like it is now

Hey for anyone else who can't for the life of them find Mutated Eggs to start with: I made a mod that gives a crafting recipee for the eggs (It is a bit expensive)

using Barotraumatic. Almost never seen these fellas spawning... Is this mod broken/Unfunctional with Barotraumatic?
